2021 UW-Seattle ABSN

Published

Hey ya'll!

Hope everyone is healthy and safe!

I wanted to know if anyone could share their experience (current/previous) in the ABSN program. What are the course load and clinic hours like? Is working part-time feasible? How did students pay for housing and living costs while in school (loans, scholarships, family help, etc.) What would you have done differently going into the program as well during the program? What specialities did you get to experience in your clinical rotations? Do you have a residency lined up or job offers?

Looking forward to your responses, cheers!

Does anyone know if the tuition is different for residents and non residents for ABSN program?

Hello, I believe it is the same. They made it clear that there wasn't a preference for in-state candidates during an info session. It shows the costs on the website; I didn't see any in-state vs out-of-state distinction. I'm in the 2021 cohort as well!

I hope so.  Because I couldn't find any information on the website.  When I looked at the cost for in-state vs out-of-state for undergraduate, out-of-state is like 3x more!!

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Did anyone hear from SoN regarding their pre-reqs ?

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! Has anyone heard about any movement on the waitlist? If anyone has experience or knows when we might get any updates about where we are on the waitlist (if there has been any movement) I would appreciate it! Just trying to figure out my Summer schedule in regards to any final prerequisite courses to take and my work schedule. ? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I hope you're doing well also. I personally have not heard anything, however, I know someone else from the waitlist reached out recently and UW told them there has been no waitlist movement and they do not anticipate the waitlist moving until June or July. I would suggest reaching out to them directly if you need to plan ahead for the Summer. Hope this is helpful!

Hi everyone. I just posted on a different forum for fall ABSN. The waitlist is moving. My emailed offer came in a couple days ago.

That's so exciting! Congratulations @LAH! Do you mind sharing what number you were on the waitlist?

Sure. Number 1.

And thank you for the congrats @haybay97 sorry for not saying that in my reply.

No worries at all!! I appreciate you letting us know! So happy and excited for you.

I randomly came across this forum while trying to figure out what my Summer classes would be for my last quarter of the ABSN program at UW. I remember our forum that started last year on allnurses. Oh, the memories!! Wow, so congrats to you all who have gotten in!! Those who didn't, do not give up!! The year is crazy and goes by really fast. I can't believe how fast it's gone by, yet I'm so ready to graduate, study for the NCLEX, and start my nursing career.

Good luck!!

You'll do fine....I promise. It will often feel like A LOT, but you'll be fine...I promise.

To those on the waitlist, I wanted you to know that I received my acceptance letter last night and after a lot of thought, I decided to decline my offer to attend the nursing program in my home state. I was #2 on the waitlist. Wishing you all the best of luck. I feel for all of you who have been waiting for this long. Keep the faith! The waitlist is moving ?
