Hello! I'm applying for the UW Madison Nurse Residency Program for the summer of 2014. I'll be a May 2014 graduate with a BSN. Is anyone else applying for this Nurse Residency program or have applied/went through the program in the past?
I'm sort of confused about the interview process on January 7th. My interview is at 10am and I'm supposed to arrive 30 minutes early. My nurse recruiter said I'll get a department tour and I'll get to meet the nurse recruiters. Do you guys know any more details about the "Nurse Resident Interview Event"?

According to some people who did it last year, it's a full day event. From what I understand, you have an individual interview with the manager, there's an informational session where they tell you more about the residency program, and there's a luncheon with the manager of the unit you're interviewing for and the rest of the people interviewing for the position. Other than that, I don't know too much about it. My interview is at 9am and I have to arrive a half hour early as well.
Congrats on interviews everyone! The closest hotel is a Best Western- 2424 University Ave, Madison, WI 53726. It's a 5 min walk to the hospital from there. The VA Hospital is the first one you'll encounter on your walk over so make sure you keep walking until you get to UW at the intersection of Highland and Observatory :) If the weather is arctic conditions then the 2 bus runs every 15 minutes until 10am, then every 30 from 10am-3pm and then back to every 15...bus stop is right outside the hotel and right outside the hospital entrance. After your interview you can take the 2 bus in the opposite direction to downtown Madison and hit up State street- TONS of great bars and restaurants plus a gorgeous capital building! Happy travels to everyone!
And yes...most interviews are on the 7th from people I've talked to.

Thanks for the tip! I have an interview on a different day - still trying to figure out what that means, if anything. I vacillate between thinking it's really good, and thinking it's really bad.
