Hello! I'm applying for the UW Madison Nurse Residency Program for the summer of 2014. I'll be a May 2014 graduate with a BSN. Is anyone else applying for this Nurse Residency program or have applied/went through the program in the past?

Outside of my Clinicals and shadowing in high school, no. I just got done with the phone interview and they want to check my references, so that should be a good sign!

I have been a Nursing Assistant at a nursing home for a year and a half. I had my phone interview today too and get to submit my references as my next step. I'm glad yours went well, /username. Do you know who you are going to use for your references?

I'm going to use two of my professors, one is the department chair, maybe my clinical instructor, and my current supervisor at work (I work in IT.

Three nursing professors and the nurse manager of the NICU who I volunteer under. I have no idea who I'll use for the fifth. Did you ask the people who you're going to use yet?

Yes, and everyone except for my clinical instructor has said yes - Do you know when they'll send our link out?

The lady who interviewed me said to expect an email from SkillSurvey soon. She also said they check references on Wednesday. I'm not quite sure what that means? Maybe that if all of our references have replied to the survey, they'll check them next Wednesday. I need to start asking my people now since I think we only have two days to put in all of our reference's information once we get the link.

Congrats to you both! I'm not even sure I'll get a call because I submitted my application on the last day. How fast did they contact you two? What was the phone interview like?

Have you heard back? I applied on the 30th and have not heard anything yet but I'm sure they got a ton of applications of over the holiday weekend.
