UW DNP program

Published

Hello to anyone out there applying to UW DNP or currently in the program. I am applying to fall2015. I am wondering about ability to work and attend the program. Also are there any of you with children/family?, working? and able to keep up the load? How many students does the program accept. What is your track? I am interested in FNP track and very anxious about making into the program. I know it's quiet competitive. Please respond if you have any insight and would like to share your experience. Thank you.

Specializes in CEN, SCRN.

That sucks! Sorry @mzjanedoe. You're the first one to get anything (or at least let us know).

How hard was the app for SPU? Did you have to take the GRE?

Oh I'm totally cool with it. I was a little burned yesterday and went for a long run but honestly the financial cost of UW was horrible and I probably wouldn't have been able to work while at UW as much as I can at SPU (part time program). The SPU application was straightforward and I didn't need the GRE. I don't think I was a very strong candidate for UW (a few bad grades during nursing school, and only two years work experience). But c'est la vie. I'm sure they're going to have a great group of you and we'll all be colleagues in a few years!

So sorry about UW. Congrats though at SPU. A sincere good luck!!

That paper thin envelop tipped me off when I checked my mail ;) But I also think for anyone who gets rejected, applying again next year looks very strong. So you are on their radar for sure!

Well I'm not sure my chances this time...and my husband is military so we are only going to be in WA 2 years anyway. This is my only shot :/ Will check mail later. I'm in CA now so may be another day or two. Again best of luck to all!!

And just want to say in past years those with acceptance letters had small envelopes too. So there's hope...I hope

If anybody gets any kind of notification for acceptance/rejection to the 2016 DNP program, could you please tell the rest of us so we know to be on the lookout?? I am out of town until Wednesday and am so nervous to look in my mailbox when I get home :nailbiting: I applied to the FNP track... any other FNP applicants out there??

I also applied to the family NP track and will be looking in the mailbox everyday until my letter arrives!

Received rejection letter today for the Acute Care track. Not surprised, but still disappointed. Once again good luck to all those accepted and to everyone in their futures!!

I live in Washington near Seattle and my letter was not in the mail today. Please continue to post when letters are received

Just wanted to let you all know that I received my acceptance letter today from the University of Washington DNP FNP track at around 1000. The envelope was fairly bulky with 8 sheets of paper

Congrats MangoJenna!! That's awesome! I got my letter today too but unfortunately I am #5 on the waiting list... Hopefully I get lucky and will be joining you in the fall! Best of luck to everyone else out there!
