UW BSN 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am hoping to start a thread for University of Washington’s BSN program for Fall 2020.

Is anyone else applying to the traditional BSN after being rejected or waitlisted for the ABSN? What are your strategies in improving your application this time around?

I am currently waitlisted for the ABSN, and having just completed my BS, I have my heart set on that program. But through the application process I realized that I would rather do two years of school at UW than do an ABSN anywhere else. I look forward to getting to know you all better in this process. Good luck to all the applicants!

Rachel - what do you do in the ER? I work as an ER tech and have for the last 9 years. I love it! Good luck to you!

I am curious if anyone here has been through the application process with UW before? I am curious when acceptance/rejection letters come out. I applied to UW BSN traditional program as well as the community college Spring ADN program as a backup. I just found out that I was accepted to the ADN program which begins March 30th. I would prefer to go to UW however, if I am not accepted I will go the ADN, then RN to BSN route. I am just concerned about the timing of UW acceptance/rejections notifications. Will they come out before end of March?

Morning! On some of the other previous year forums for UW, I believe we find out April 15-20ish time frame.

For anyone who may be wondering, the BSN received 574 complete applications this year for 80 spots.

I work in registration! That’s so cool, ER techs are such hard workers, I am sure you will be a fantastic nurse! ?

Hi all!

This is my first time applying to the program and I am really nervous but also excited! Does anyone know what the criteria is in order to make it to the proctored essay? Thanks!

Yes, and essay coming up on the 19th. I'm doing the out-of-area proctored essay, but if anyone wants to ask in person how many people got invited to this stage of the process.. it would be appreciated! Good luck, everyone!

Hi everyone! I’ve applied to last year’s cohort and went to the proctored essay, but didnt make it to the final cut. I applied again this year, so i really hope i can get in this time! Last year, they invited a little over 300 people to the proctored essay. They really look for a lot of self reflection based on your health care experience on your personal statement and resume. I think those two are the biggest determining factors for who gets invited to the proctored essay or not.

Hi everyone! Thanks for making the thread, I'm a first-time applicant and I'm super nervous too! I only have about ~6 months of experience as a CNA so I'm definitely a little intimidated by all the more experienced applicants but I'm excited nonetheless!

Just wondering if anyone had heard about getting accepted to the essay portion early, I remember reading in a previous year that people were, so I'm just curious. Either way, good luck to everyone this Friday!

Hi all!!
I got my invitation to the proctored essay this morning! I was wondering if anyone knew what exactly to expect?
