UW BSN 2018

Published

Hi! I'm applying for the UW BSN for next fall. This is my second time applying to the program and I really want to get in! I thought I would start a discussion so we can all help each other out since the application comes out this month and the essay questions are already out!

A little about myself:

-When I applied for this fall my nursing prerequisite gpa was a 3.0 and I retook one class and I believe now it is a 3.2 which isn't that great but they accept anywhere from a 2.4-4.0 for this fall so I am not too worried about that.

-When I applied for this fall I only had 120 healthcare experience hours and when I apply for next year I'll have well over 1,500.

-I'm also doing a study abroad program in maternal and child health in December before the app is due and this year i managed to get a job at Mary Bridge Children's hospital and recently got hired at Seattle Children's. I also got certified in neonatal resuscitation.

Thanks all! I can't wait to hear back and get some advice!

My understanding is that we get notified via e-mail, then paperwork and stuff will follow in the mail!

Hi Adrian, i know you don't have an exact time frame but do you think decisions will come out any later than the 20th? - I just want to have an idea of what to expect because deposit for my back up school increases the later i respond to them.

Thank you!

We will be emailing all admissions decisions. People who are admitted or waitlisted will receive pdf documents that they'll print, sign, and mail back.

It's possible it may come after the 20th. I'm hoping it will come out sooner, but we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks Adrian for the updates! Any news from anyone?

Admissions decisions have gone out! If you do not receive an email today, please let me know.

If we have not received an email by now, does that mean we are not accepted?

Ahh I got an email but I wasnt accepted. I'm pretty bummed out but trying to look on the bright side. Best of luck to everyone:)

I got in! Now to decide between this and the accelerated program...

I got waitlisted.... Does anyone know how many people they waitlist? I feel like I'm at the bottom of the list and have close to no chance.

I was waitlisted at #26 (what a high number!). @adri.aco, has there ever been a year where 20+ people on the waitlist have been run through, whether they accepted or denied admissions? I am going to remain optimistic about it, though it doesn't seem likely.

To my understanding, I believe you also update those of us on the waitlist when there is movement? Would it be possible for me to exchange a few e-mails with you concerning some questions?

Im waitlisted in the late 10s... however I know of people who are in the 30s so I think that it is a pretty long waitlist

Wow, what's up with the large waitlist? I thought they only waitlist people to the 20s??
