I would like to start a thread to see if anybody applied for UVA RN Clinician 1 - 2014 Graduates position. Welcome for those who were offered a position from last cohort to please share interview experience and new working environment. Thank you very much :yes:

I just accepted a spot in the New Grad program and and relocating from CA as well!

Congratulations! Cool to hear there is someone else coming from CA. What unit will you be working on? Did you visit UVA? If so what was your impression?

Also do you know what the start date is? And have you seen the contract yet? Is there a financial penalty if you don't stay the full 2 years? Not that I think I would break the contract, I've just heard bad things about people having to pay lots of money to get out of a contract at other hospitals when they had to leave for reasons beyond their control.

Very happy to hear from you. It looks like you did great job in today interview, and I am sure for your next as well. I think you can try to contact HR and ask for ICU interview spot. I have known people who were directly hired in ICU without ICU practicum experience. I am going to have interview with Burn ICU manager. Actually, I am a bit nervous since I have no interview prep. -- would you mind to elaborate more in detail regarding interview questions that you are able to recall? I am surprised there are plenty of folks who are from CA. I am located on UVA area though. Anyway, please keep posted and be in touch with us. :yes:

I saw this thread a week ago and applied to UVA the same day. Today I got a call for a possible webcam interview for general medicine. I'm also a new grad from California!

So I received a call from HR today offering me the position in cardiac progressive care that I interviewed for on Friday! I am in the process of setting up a visit ASAP and apparently it is hospital policy for them to pay for your trip which is nice.

Just to let yall know. HR at UVA is notoriously slow about calling back and arranging interviews. Things go reasonably quickly once you interview, but it can be months after you submit a resume that you actually get a call.

That's good to know. I guess I got lucky because they called me a week after I applied.
