UVA CNL May 2011 applicants

Hi,

Is there anyone else out there who applied/ is currently applying to the UVa direct entry MSN CNL program? I would love to find other members so that we can go through this process together. I'm excited to hear from other applicants! Good luck!

Hi guys!! Just wanted to say Hello!

I also applied to the CNL program, it would be an absolute dream to be accepted!! I have visited Charlottesville numerous times and literally had to be pried away from the Alderman Library on my last visit. My GPA is under the 3.25 mark but I did alright on the GRE. I have plenty of experience in the hospital setting as I worked in the ER for the past two summers (ringed up a bunch of hours!) Ah, I would absolutely love to become a nurse.

Everyone should keep their hopes up and stress levels down : ) I hear large amounts of chocolate and any desert reallly help!

HAve they started interviews for the May 2013 class? I applied and very nervous. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Hey soulshine,

As far as I know they haven't started yet, but they should be conducting interviews throughout October and November. The waiting is always the hardest part! During my application process, we were not told about our admissions until Jan 15th and needless to say my Christmas break was filled with anxiety. Luckily they'll be informing you all in mid December. Do you live in Virginia? Did you get a chance to attend an open house Q&A session? Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Interviews are starting this week, and will be conducted through the second week in December. Decisions will be announced before the long Christmas holiday weekend. We will email applicants in early December when we have a better idea on the precise announcement date.

This is just the first week of interviews. We expect to have 7-8 weeks of interviews in total and expect to complete them in mid-December. We invite interview candidates one week at a time.

I do live in Va. Actually right in Charlottesville! I attended the Q&A which solidified my interest in only going to UVA!!! It is the best program:) Of course I am worried my application is not strong enough because I only have volunteer work in PICU, ED, and at the Haven downtown. How has your experience been in the program Meg? You are so great to reply to peoples question on here so consistently!! Thanks!!1

Thanks for answering questions Meg! I really love UVA. It's the only MSN-CNL program I am applying to (I'm applying to direct-entry and ABSN programs as well). The 1:1 clinicals is my biggest draw to it. :)
