UVA CNL 2013 Cohort

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Hi everyone!

I have applied to UVA's CNL program for May 2013 entrance. I had my interview this past week and it went well. Now comes the hardest part.. waiting until December 20 to find out! Is anyone else out there in the same boat? I am from out of state, anyone else? :)

Good luck all!

I found this: http://www.nursing.virginia.edu/media/Graduate_Handbook_DECNL_2011_2012.pdf very interesting and useful.

I was looking at their global options for community health.. the trip to Ethiopia working with orphans sounds amazing!

Wow, that is really great. I hope I get to actually hold it in my hands:) I am ready to hear if we are all in. Hoping for the best!!!

Healers Art,

Gosh, if I'm lucky enough to get in, it looks like I will need a whole new computer based on that handbook.

One more question UVA Grad Nursing...

For the entering cohort 2013, does that include BSN students that have applied for CNL? Or is the CNL cohort we are applying to strictly for students without a nursing background?

I'm the question girl:)

Soul:

The figures I quote are just for the Master's Entry CNL program. We have a different admissions process/target for those who are already nurses (the RN-CNL program).

Hi all!

I'm new to allnurses but have been following the threads. how did everyone's interview go? only two more weeks!

Hey pura-vida! Welcome!! :) We have been hoping more people would find the forum.

My interview was good, my interviewer was so nice it made me nervous! lol. It is the waiting part that is hard. How/When was your interview?

PS - did you by chance study abroad in (or are from) Costa Rica?

Yes same! It felt like it went by so fast the conversation was so natural. According to the stats from last year though it is about a 50% chance of at least getting on the waiting list (interview 80, they offered admission to 30 and wait-listed 10) so making it to the interview is a positive! And yes I volunteered there! Have you been??

Yes agreed! That is a very positive note! ..Everything is so organized, I love that! Are you from Virginia? ... and yes! I studied abroad in San Jose during college. It was a blast, I loved it!

I am from Virginia but i go to school out-of-state right now. That's awesome I was right outside of San Jose in San Pedro. I've been a couple times and I love the culture!

Are you finishing up your under-grad?

Okay, very nice. :) Yes I agree, I love the culture. Central/South America is definitely an area I want to do more traveling in the future!
