Hi everyone!
I have applied to UVA's CNL program for May 2013 entrance. I had my interview this past week and it went well. Now comes the hardest part.. waiting until December 20 to find out! Is anyone else out there in the same boat? I am from out of state, anyone else? :)
Good luck all!
I saw the new pre-req posted. I am attempting to find somewhere online to take it this summer. I am not considered Virginia in-state resident until July 30 and I really don't want to pay 1200 bucks to take it. My question is, does this pre-req require a lab or is it just the lecture? Thank you!
I just didn't want to take it at the same time as I'm taking Anatomy because I still have to work full-time until I get accepted to a nursing program. Is the lab required with microbiology? I found a course in Ohio that has the lecture portion online, but has an in-class lab. I asked them if I was able to just take the lecture portion if the lab is not required for the CNL program. Thanks!

I highly suggest taking the class in person. My A&P partner learned next to nothing in the online format and since it is now a requirement for the CNL program I would suggest the content will be highly useful to your nursing education. Get the most bang for your buck:) I am not sure about the lab portion but you can always email the UVA SON and ask about that. I don't believe our A&P required labs, however, I can't imagine not having it now. It was the best part of the class:)
Thank you! The labs are require for all of the science pre-reqs. I start MicroBio on Monday. The only option on was online through PVCC, but the lab is live. I should be fine. I've had it before, but it was more than 5 years so I get to take it again. Refreshers are always nice, if only they were free!!! I hope your first week in the program is going well!! Feel free to update me on the program is!! I'm very curious to hear!!!

Thank you so much! That is very encouraging and helpful information. I will be checking the website! I have also contacted Martha Jefferson to volunteer there for some extra experience while I am taking my pre-reqs! Thanks again!
