Hello!

Yesterday was the first day of applications for UTSW Nurse Residency February 2020 cohort. I'm starting this thread for everyone who applied and/or planning to apply.

I submitted my application yesterday with interests in Critical Care Track and Surgical services track. I currently work in Urology in UTSW but I'm trying to get Acute Care experience so here I am. I hope they consider me!

Hope we find support in each other here. Good luck everyone!

I applied to surgical services! I work in an emergency department (6 months of expereince) right now but wanting to go into OR.

Guess we will see what happens!! :D

Hello! I'm applying to the Critical Care Track! Just waiting to get my letter of recommendation to upload my application!

Thank you for starting this thread!

Hello! I applied for the Women’s services (L&D) track for UTSW! I heard it was pretty competitive, so I’m pretty anxious. ): Wishing everyone the best of luck!

I heard so too. I heard they have less than 50% acceptance rate.

Is anyone applying to other institutions?

@Viv11992

What all have you heard about it? I'm super curious lol

And has anyone heard anything in terms of when they start interviewing or what they are looking for in ideal candidates?

I applied for the ED track! I am from out of state so I'm glad this page is available for us to all talk about it! Wishing everyone good luck!

@newromantics I've heard that it's super competitive, but it's one of the best residencies in the DFW area. I think their ER and L&D gets pretty competitive. I've heard that their interviews are pretty laid back with about 4 people.

A friend of mine who did the residency years ago said you'll head back in 1-2 months then get set up for interviews. You'll know if you got the job about 2 months before it starts.

Thank y'all for sharing!

Did you all attend the mixer? I wonder if they mentioned anything about number of open positions and such, particularly in women's. I'm also working right now but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a residency soon.

Not knowing is the worst!
