Hello All! This is a forum for those applying to the UTSW Residency Program this upcoming February 2022. I applied to UTSW residency and a couple of other hospitals. Good luck to everyone!

I applied on the 4th, a day after it opened. I heard back from the Acute Medical unit!

Same here, do you have an idea of the units that are included in that department?

I think they send interviews out by department, I just got one for progressive care

I'm also going for ICU. I put ER as my second track. I spoke with a UTSW recruiter in an info session and he said that as of last Monday (13th) there were over 350 applicants. ICU has over 200 applicants and they only take about 20 people. He said if he can't get you an interview for your top choice, they'll try to get you in for your second choice.

I put women's services as my first choice and psych as my second. I have not heard from a recruiter about women's services, but I got an email today to schedule an interview for the psyc department today.

350 applicants total?? so 200 applicants applied for ICU and the other 150 applied else where?

Yea. I think he said 200 had ICU as their primary track. But that was as of September 13. Applications closed the 17th so I assume there's a lot more applicants now.
