UTMB Tradtional BSN Spring 2020

Hey everyone. I’m starting this thread to see how everyone’s status is going with their applications. I applied for Spring 2020 traditional BSN on 02/01/19. My transcripts were verified today 02/15/20. Does anyone know when I’ll receive the supplemental application?

I got an email yesterday that I was waitlisted!

I have not heard back anything. My status on Mystar just says completed and that is what it has said the whole time since I successfully submitted my application. I'm hoping that hearing nothing is a possibly good sign since I have not been denied yet...fingers crossed!

Did anyone who applied live anywhere else besides Galveston? I'm in Dallas and know you can do the clinicals here, but the SIM lab, etc. where are they done?

My Teas score is not that competitive at all in my opinion as it was a 78 compared to my other friends that made it in the Fall 2019 with an 81 and 84 (both having 4.0s). I was actually studying to take the TEAS again set for next week to apply to TWU spring 2020 ,but that’s out of the picture now LOL.

My GPA throughout on all scales is a 4.0, and I would have to say that I poured my spirit into my personal statement and I made it more personal than analytical; overall I was confident about it.

UTMB is actually my 1st choice and I’m so excited to see everyone who made it! And hopefully the people that are waitlisted are able to join us as well!!! Ahh

Hiii! yes, it is my first time applying! I was waitlisted with:

Overall GPA - 3.5

Science GPA - 3.7

TEAS - 80.7

Hey, yall! Congratulations to all of yall that have already been accepted, and those who are still waiting to hear - do not lose faith!!

Ok somehow I ended up on this thread, but figured I'd pass on the torch with an answer. I recently graduated from UTMB nursing and got my license. Although GPA and Teas counts into consideration especially if you don't have any other life experiences like being a paramedic or something, I personally believe the most important thing is your letter and how well you interview. If you can convince them that you really want to be there and are willing to fight through the painful experiences of being in nursing school then Teas & GPA won't matter as much. Can't speak for other programs, but UTMB nursing is very hard and it takes a lot of patience and sheer determination get through. Most of you will be so overwhelmed that you will break out in tears several times at some point, but you will learn to move on and become more resilient. I was accepted with a 3.7 gpa with several W's and a borderline TEAS, but I made it up honestly showing that there was nowhere else that I rather be and no other career that I would rather pursue. I even recited their core values and explained how it applies to me personally. Don't feel down because some mr or mrs perfect 4.0 posted their stats on here to compare. Just try your best, apply, be honest and determined. If you are the perfect 4.0 good job, just make sure this is exactly what you want to do because you're no exception, you will struggle. Good luck on all your journeys ahead.
