I just wanted to start a group for those applying to UTMB nursing summer 2018 start! I didn't see a thread and figured there was some of us who could use one!
I have already taken my teas and will be submitting my application soon! This would be a great place for us to compare timelines and answer any questions I'm sure we all have! I look forward to hearing from other applicants.
They are just now asking me about it for the summer and I got waitlisted for spring too, so I don't see the difference between both semesters. I got my fingerprinted for spring. I called today and they said normally about 10% of the 90 applicants get waitlisted. Not sure how accurate this is, but if that's the case, then the waitlist must be short.
So, do you have to re-do your blue card since you threw the other one out?
Also, I got my email to get my finger prints done today as well. I made an appointment for next week, because that's the soonest I could find.
And azzahalba, I believe there is 6 or 7 of us on here that have written we were waitlisted. I feel like that's also kind of a small number, but who knows!
Hey guys, so basically they ask for your fingerprints so that if you are accepted you're ready to go faster and have everything done so you can enroll. To my knowledge I think the fingerprints last awhile (maybe two years). I got mine done for LAST FALL and submitted them again for summer. I actually got the finger prints done for another program that you needed just to apply.
So I was told 4-6 weeks after the deadline.. I submitted my application the last day LOL and heard back in late October and was accepted about a month later... Also, some people who are accepted end up not attending because of $$, getting accepted to other programs, not passing their background checks, didn't finish prepreqs.. so i'm assuming they want you to wait because the "accepted" list isn't finalized until then. I mean thats what the only thing I can think of.
Just wanted to let you know, I asked Ms. Botello last week if they were still planning on pulling off the waitlist for this summer and she said that they pull of the waitlist every admissions cycle, so yes! I've decided to go to another school instead of wait on the waitlist, but best of luck to you all :)

And that is really surprising, that's 9 people, if you go through this forum, it seems like a lot more than 9 people got wait-listed.
