UTMB Summer 2017

Published

Hi future nurses! I didn't see a discussion board for the summer term of 2017, so I decided to make one myself(: Let's use this forum to discuss grades, TEAS, and the application process. This does include venting! We all know how anxiety kicks in when there's a bump in the road. Good luck to everyone that is applying!

I can't wait for the application period opens. Anyone that is re-applying, any tips?

Just received my interview for the 17th!!

I've also just received an email to interview this morning!

But still feel apprehensive since this is their second or third wave of interviews...

How many waves of interviews do they do? I submitted my application on Oct. 30 & supplemental on Nov. 5th.

I still haven't heard anything regarding an interview. ):

my stats are:

cumulative gpa: 3.94

science gpa: 4.0

Teas: 84.7

Because curiosity gets the best of us, would those of you who have received interviews let us know what your stats were and when you submitted your application? Thank you! I submitted mine October 31 and of course haven't heard anything. SO nerve wrecking!

You should recheck your "to do's" on mystar just incase because I sent my TEAS from ATI web yesterday and today the to do list finally stop telling me I'm missing TEAS scores.

I don't understand MyStar. I don't see a "to-do" section anywhere.

Click Campus Solutions under the Menu, should then pull up a new browser, then click student center

I scheduled mine on Dec. 5th since I have to ask time off from work 2 weeks beforehand. This will be my third time that I applied but my second time to received an interview.

Mimi1317, 3rd time's the charm. Would you mind sharing your academic stats for when you didn't get in so we know what to expect? If that's not too much to ask.

I'm from a different state that's extremely competitive so I have no idea where the standard lies for admission

What were your stats the first time? Is this your 3rd time applying for a summer term?

My overall GPA range is still the same around a 3.34 for all three times I have applied. However for third attempt I've improved my TEAS score to an 81.7% and obtained a BS degree as well as rewrote my personal statement. My TEAS score for the first attempt was a 72 and I had an interview invite during the second wave. ( and I was surprised when I received the invite). Then I got waitlisted. For Spring 2017, I just submitted with the same GPA, same TEAS score, and same personal statement until I was denied 12 weeks later. From there, I called the admissions advisor and asked what I can do to improve my chances and a lady mentioned to me that for the TEAS, they won't take anyone in consideration if they who scored a 65% or under in any of the sections of the TEAS exam.
