Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!
Hello, has anyone that have been accepted been able to log back into the portal? I called they gave me my password but it won't log me in because of the VPN? how did yall figure this problem out?
You must download the VPN software and have it running (with dual authentication) when you connect to MySTAR. The IT phone number that you called for your password is the same number you call for support. They can walk you through it step by step!
I believe that the new student guide is the new student checklist? ?? Onthepath? Jules? Can either of you confirm this?
I havent seen it but remember to submit the paperwork that they send you via actual mail, i almost forgot to send my paperwork back in time since it had a deadline of august 18, so make sure you fill out the Conditional forms for enrollment that they send

make sure you call the help desk because they will tell you your new pw and also yes you will have to download an app on your phone and an application on your laptop
I got my acceptance letter this morning at 7:53AM!Here are my stats:
Science GPA 4.0
Overall GPA 3.75
TEAS Overall 87
Interviewed on August 2nd, and received acceptance on August 11th.
Good luck to everyone who is waiting!
Congrats Ben on your acceptance, like i told most people best to get a headstart and knock out the immunizations since they will accept those at anytime, as well as sending in the paperwork you get via mail, apply for fasfa. Also this is important because a friend of mine has just been accepted to another nursing school but he has to do a DO for the BON, so i recommend that you get an FBI background checked if needed because a DO will take several months and you can lose your seat that way.
This might be a dumb question, but what is a DO?
A Declaratory Order that you need to submit to the BON asap so they can clear you to go to school, you only need it if at any point in your life you have been arrested or charged for a crime or have a substance problem, since you have to pass a background check at the state and fbi lvl, the fbi lvl is more in depth and will look at all records of your fingerprints. You can go look up at the Texas BON to see if you will need to do one, its important that you do one soon if you need to because of the up to 6 month turn around time, you need to clear both background checks for you to start school

I am unsure about your TEAS retake and submittal question.
UTMB can see updates to NursingCAS. However, once you have been accepted, your transcripts must be sent directly to UTMB. I sent updates for Spring 2017 courses completed to NursingCAS. UTMB did have the updates when my MyStar to do list changed (only my remaining prerequisites are listed).
