UTMB Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

You should be able to get titers done by any location that is able to draw your blood for the most part, I went thru my physician to get all that stuff done, I'm getting stuff done right now so I don't have to wait and hurry at the very last minute in case I'm missing something. As for the requirements and PDF for the immunizations just google son utmb immunizations and a page will pop up leading to to their website and the location of the paperwork you are looking for will be on the bottom left side under new students..hope this helps

Thank you so much

You will need BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association, not the Red Cross. I just wanted to make sure people don't end up taking the wrong course then have to spend the time & money taking the correct one after the fact.

That's right, not the CPR, the BLS. Thank you for correcting me!

Hey, I live in Pearland too! :) but not acceptance yet... lol

I don't plan on taking it right away. So, we just might have the chance to take it together!

Thank you all for the info!

Congratulations to all those going to interview. Please let us know how it goes. Exciting!!!!!

Hey yall, so I just got emailed today as well for an interview so I figured I'd make a comment and give others my stats. My overall GPA is a 3.41 and my science GPA is a 3.42, and I still have my elective science to take. They're a little low thats why I was nervous to post about them but I feel like its important for other applicants to know as well, I took all of my courses at UH. As for my TEAS overall: 84%

Reading 83%

Math 96.9%

Science 76.6%

English 79.2%

My interview is this Friday, good luck to everyone!! :)

On my NCAS app I forgot to put that I'm taking my elective science this fall... is that bad? Should I try to contact them?

I would. However, you should be able to update your app as long as you are not updating previously verified grades.

What time did your email come in? I wonder if there's still a chance to be included in this round.

Basically what we need are: MMR, chickenpox,Hepatitis B, and PPD . Right? Do we need any other vaccines. Thank you

I went for my interview on August 2nd, and I just noticed today that they changed my "to-do list" on MyStar to list all my courses I am taking this next semester to finish up my pre-reqs. Anyone else have this happen? Just curious if this is a good sign...

Yes you need to make sure you also have a tdap shot (tetnes) documented as those can only be confirmed by documentation of the shot

TDap is only for people who under 22 years old right? I'm 30
