UTMB Spring 2016

Published

Howdy! I couldn't find a thread for Spring 2016, so I figured I would start my own. I'm having trouble with this whole application thing (mostly stress!), so I would love to talk to others going through this same process!

Congrats to you guys that got wait listed! Would you mind sharing your stats? I'm finishing up my summer application and am curious :)

I haven't heard back either!

Me either! When did all those waiting have their interview?

Hopefully we hear today or tomorrow!!

Lol this school has to be the most unorganized/unprofessional nursing school. Taking months to get back to students which causes them to miss other deadlines, what a joke. I've seen students with lower stats get in compared to students with better stats. **** THIS SCHOOL. Don't know what they do on the admissions table.. Nonetheless goodluck to everyone else. Peace!

Hang in there guys. My interview was 7/22. My stats are gpa: 3.32; teas: 81. And quite a bit of community service and shadowing hours. I also think they hold a lot of weight on your personal statement and interview.

Well we didn't get denied this week. And we haven't been waitlisted. So maybe we will get lucky with some good news. I don't understand why it is taking so much longer than they said, and I really wish we would hear today, but I won't hold my breath. I think my stats are good. Overall my GPA isn't as good as others, but it's because I have close to 200 college credits. I have 2 associates degrees, and I double majored in Accounting and Finance, graduated Cum Laude with a 3.8, and I am a Certified Public Accountant. I have a lot of professional management/leadership experience with large international companies. My overall GPA is 3.23 because when I started college I was struggling living on my own and just trying to knock out classes. Once I got on my feet I had all A's. I want a career change because life as a Controller is very demanding and time consuming - lots of overtime, and I don't get personal satisfaction because I am really just a show horse lol, making the company look good and making them money, but I'm not actually helping anyone or doing good for the world. When I first started college I was pre-med for 2 years before changing course to business school. On my TEAS overall I made an 87. Math-100, Reading-91, English-93, and Science-73. I literally had to re-teach myself the entire science section because it's been 5-10 years since I've taken those pre-req's. Overall I felt like I was a competitive applicant considering my experience, certifications and education, and TEAS scores. I'm sure I'm not their typical applicant though. Who knows what they will decide. I don't want to feel like a reject but this wait is killing me. I haven't checked my email so much in my life!

Your stats are great. I think your a very competitive applicant. My gpa wasn't the greatest either. Nor were my overall transcripts. Hang in there!
