Hey Guys!
I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!
I can't remember how I figured it up, but I really thought they would interview around 200-220 with 120 slots for traditional and 80 for bacc... I think I was told they would accept 120 for the traditional program--somehow I gathered that info, and it made sense. None-the-less, its all speculation for now and there's really now rhyme to getting in... I'll be glad to finally figure it out, though :-) Cause this is driving me crazy!!!Can't wait!! Good luck all!!!!

None of that made sense...lol So the way I had figured it up was that they were interviewing every Friday in September, about 40 interviews per day. That would make about 200 interviews. If their interviewing and accepting 120 traditional students, then it would seem that all who are interviewed are accepted. However, we have already learned from previous threads that not all who are interviewed are accepted. It seems, though, that most are. So getting the interview is key--or at least it appears to be from this end. The end that is hoping for an acceptance letter by Friday :-)

to me it's more nerve racking to figure out the interview invite system than to wait for an interview lol.
there are only 120 traditional spots, and 250 traditional applicants. If they interviewed all 250 traditional applicants then you basically have a 50/50 shot at getting it... More realistically the probably only interview about 200 of those 250 So its like a 66% chance of getting accepted once you have an interview (or 2 out of every 3 interviewed will get in) Seem like decent odds.
It is def better than only having 120 spots out of 800 applicants like I had been hearing.... Makes me feel a little more confident!
I really don't care how they do it...IM just glad I have an interview and CANNOT wait until I find out if I am in or not....
