Quota for this semester is 100.
For those who have been admitted, I called SON and they told me admission packets will be sent out in about 2 weeks. All I know is that in the academic calendar is says we have orientation Jan 4-6.
During my interview, she told me once you made it to the interview portion of app process, they no longer look at your grades/test score because the fact that you made it that far means that your grades were acceptable. At this point they are looking at your people skills and how you communicate with them. They want to see if you have the character to succeed in nursing school. She said grades were already looked at obviously and now they want to see the complete package and yes, the interviewer does have the final say so. That's coming from what the interviewer told me.
I hope you guys that are waiting find out soon that you have gotten admitted. Good things come to those who wait!
Anyone that has already been accepted started to look into books? I saw on the UTMB site that the book list for next semester is up, I'm just kinda unsure which classes we will be taking. There are 5 of them that say JR so I would assume those are ours. I was looking at the required texts and WOW there are alot of books and they are SUPER expensive. Anyone start looking yet? Im trying to find out if there is a cheap place to get them
Chegg.com has relatively inexpensive rental rates. My husband has been using them and we have saved tons.
LindsayPaige,
Check out http://son.utmb.edu/ On the right there is a link that says "Spring Book List" The link takes you to the book store, choose SON and then BSN Traditional JR. Some classes have multiple books.
Cheers!
Here is an update on there website for applicants:
Spring 2011 Applicant Update:
The last day of applicant interviews for Spring 2011 will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010. Applicants should expect to receive notification regarding admissions for Spring 2011 by Tuesday, November 9, 2010.
Hope this helps.

THANKS!!! My interviewer actually circled admit on the cover of my interview sheet when we were done. We have kept in contact b/c she wants to know when I hear something. She didn't make it seem like it was strictly up to her, but you are the second person who said that. So my future is looking brighter! THANKS again, I will keep waiting!

Yea I want to do the same! I just wish we would've been like the first 2wks of interviewees who know their status in a week or a week and a half. I keep checking E-connect as well, just in case that changes before I get a letter.
