UTMB Spring 2010

Published

Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.

I'm right there with ya. My overall is around a 3.0 and science is 3.5. The best of luck to you.

Good luck to you too!

Oh yeah, what were y'all's college majors (for those who are trying for a second degree)?

welcome to the club toasterbell, we are glad to have you! :clpty:

during the open house they said; "consideration is taken for the early years" or as the student ambassador so eloquently put it "the beer and party days!" they understand most of us had issues in the early days of college and they don't seen to hold it against us. i wouldn't worry too much about it because they also said the average gpa for the previous classes was in the 3.0 to 3.1 range and you have a previous degree so you are fine!

my gpas:

overall: 3.8

science: 3.7

prerequs: 3.8

no previous degree

Awesome! Thank you so much! I wasn't able to make it to any of the open houses, so I'm having to just go off of what else I can find on the website.. Your grades look fantastic; hopefully you'll have no trouble getting in.

When you were at the open house, did they give you any sort of idea of what a typical schedule would look like?

Hey toaster & lindsay!

My science GPA is a 3.7......it would have been a 4.0 but I just had to make a C in dev psych lol and I had no idea they included dev psych in the science Gpa

Pre req- 3.8

overall 3.0 :(

Great Gpa ms.Sealy your a shoe in now pray for me! :)

grrrrrrrrrrrrr on that C! I know the feeling..I got Bs in A&P I and II and As in everything else! so frustrating. I also have QUITE a few Ws from the "early days" (whispers... back in the early 90s) that I hope will be overlooked!

toasterbell..they said most people have classes on the island 2-3 days a week for the first couple of months, but they weren't very specific. there are current students that say them same thing. jazzynurse2b said there is also talk of possible online classes soon!

Thanks! I certainly don't mind the idea of online classes, but I'm planning on moving down there if at all possible anyways. Is anyone else looking at the Ferry Rd. apartments if you get accepted? 800 a month all bills paid with 3 bedrooms so my kids have a place to sleep sounds too good to pass up, even if they are little.

I have applied to the Accelerated Program as well. I got my first degree in Communication Design from Texas State. My overall GPA is a 3.47, science GPA is 3.25, and prerequisite GPA is about 3.3. I still have more sciences and prerequisites to take so I'm certain those will go up. I'm a little bummed because two of my four science classes that I've taken were back when I was just trying to get them done and didn't try as hard in them. I hope they will understand I was heading down a different path back then! If I get accepted to UTMB I will move down to Galveston. I have been looking at places down there, including the Ferry Road Apts, but don't want to get my hopes up! I hope I get in!

Welcome Sarah Ashley! I am a fellow Bobcat myself. I graduated with a BFA in Photography. Small world. Good luck!

Your grades sound great! I imagine that if they see that the latest grades are the highest, they'll cut us some slack. Also, hopefully everyone else thinks that Ike has Galveston too messed up and don't apply :-P.

Wow, art folks all over the place! I ended up with English, but spent the first 3 years of school as a Metals & Jewelrysmithing major at UNT.
