Good afternoon everyone...
Do any of you happen to know a timeframe of when classes are? I know they register us, but I seem to remember in our info session them saying classes were generally all day Monday, most of Tuesday, and online class, and then whenever they schedule you for clinicals. I'm just trying to figure out a potential work schedule so I can figure out what I'm doing as far as that is concerned. Thanks!
Kris

Hey Ms.Sealy, the lady is actually doing the CPR certification for 50$ now, I guess because of the holidays. She does them basically any time you need to do it. I was only there for 45 minutes! I didn't learn much because she was doing the class with people who had already taken it...but I got the gist of it. If you want her number PM me.
Also...is anyone looking for a roommate!? I had one originally but she's kind of going through some personal stuff and has decided not to move out now. I am willing to live in Clear Lake/Webster or Galveston. I have found some great places in both areas for good prices but I can't afford them by myself. I am 20 years old and I have a cat (she doesn't have to come...). I would really prefer to live with a nursing student so our schedules are the same and it would be nice to have a study buddy in the house. Let me know if you're looking for a room mate as well!
Hello I am new to this thread but I will be in the Generic BSN program and jus wanted some advice. I am moving from san antonio, so I need to find a place to live. I dont know if it is better to live on the island or not and if I do not have to where should I live. Do we know forsure that we will be going to the Medical center in Houston for clinicals?
Hi VRA21 and welcome to our little group :)
I'm in the same boat you are in...I have heard different things from different people. Some of the profs have told me to live somewhere in between galveston and the medical center because clinicals can be anywhere in the vicinity of the two. Students on the other hand have told me to live on the island because it's more convenient for the library and all of the other resources the school has to offer. I'm having a hard time finding a one bedroom place that's decent and close to campus for the budget I have...which is 500$/mo. There are a lot of houses and condos close to campus. I've looked at two, but I always find something I don't like about them lol (small bathroom small bedroom, etc.) But if you need any help, I'm looking for a place too I can give you some places that I've looked at too.
rocketsson,
do you know which of these software programs will be helpful during our first semester?
ecg notes: interpretation and management guide
mosby's diagnostic and laboratory test reference
taber's cyclopedic medical dictionary, 21st edition
diseases and disorders: a nursing therapeutics manual

Does anyone know what we are supposed to do about registration???? Are they going to automatically register for classes and if so are they going to tell us how much it will cost before orientation since out tuition fee is due then???? My friend who is currently in the BSN program said her first semester was around 3300.00 dollars for just tuition alone. She said it was another 900.00 dollars for books, uniforms, supplies, etc... I am freaking out because I don't know how I am going to come up with all of that in such a short amount of time. I don't really qualify for financial aid because my parents claim me on their taxes and they make too much money for me to get any subsidized loans. Ive had a private loan in the past but the interest rates are so incredibly high that my mom would just rather put stuff on a credit card because the interest rates are lower. If anyone knows anything about when we will be finding out things about our schedule and registration let me know...or if you have any advice!!!! I am soooo excited to meet everyone and I hope everyone does well with all of their finals and has a wonderful christmas break!!! Oh and I hope Yall all enjoyed the SNOW today!!!!
