UTMB Spring/Summer 2019

Published

Hi I know it's a few months early, but have anyone started getting their application/essay ready to apply to UTMB for 2019? Lol I'm nervous looking at blogs from previous years. I'm also scared to take the TEAS. I plan on applying for Summer 2019.

Congrats to you! When did you receive the email if you don't mind me asking? It is an honor in my opinion as well.

Thank you so much! I received it yesterday around 1 p.m. central time :)

This is the bees knees!! Congratulations!! Hey don't feel bad I cried during my interview and explained that I was just extremely thankful to even be there interviewing. They were totally understanding and empowering! You'll slam it out of the park. No worries!

Thank you so much! :') That's most likely what's going to end up happening to me! I know for a fact that I'm going to mention my amazing support system, from my amazing parents to my amazing mentors and professors, and that's when I'm 100% going to get choked up. I wouldn't be here without them.

That said, would you mind sharing a few tips from your experience? Questions they asked, overall process, etc. I would appreciate it so much :')

Hello friends!

I was doing a few deliveries yesterday when I just randomly decided to check my email, and to my surprise, I had an invitation to interview from UTMB. I couldn't believe it (and still can't believe it). I went back home and shared the news with my family--all while crying so much. It's an honor to even be considered for an interview. That said, to my fellow friends that have interviewed already, how was the atmosphere like? Any tips? All information will be extremely helpful. I'm going to be driving all the way from the TWU-Denton area (Dallas, Tx), and only have one shot at this. Also, to my other friends who are applying and haven't heard anything back yet (which is still kinda-early), don't lose hope. It will come, and though we're all competing for a spot, I wish you all nothing but success in this process.

I've recently learned that it depends on the interviewer that you receive. I had an extremely nice lady who related to me so much and made it almost too comfortable. She also said that every interviewer isn't the same in the way they ask questions so hopefully you get someone just as sweet. The atmosphere was overall pretty chill (we did a quarter of the interview with the lights off) until the storm came through and made it too dark. Know about yourself, how you work well with people, your study habits, and challenges in your life. Wish the best of luck to you!

Now that @ElPollo mentioned it... second round of interviews has started!! I figured I was the last one for the first round but wasn't too sure.

I feel as my interview story is similar to everyone elses! My interviewer was a very kind older woman. We kind of just spoke freely and had conversation. She did make it seem like the questions were mostly a formality... She would ask a question and then I would give my answer which was long winded, and she only typed a few words. She was super nice and we had outside conversation besides just the interview questions. The only time I felt like I might have been self-limiting is when I did cry, but I think that's my own personal self-doubt. She was very empathetic and had a box of tissues. Every staff member I met was extremely kind and courteous. It did not feel like a rigid, scary, place lol! Don't be nervous. Be yourself. So much good luck to you!

Alright well then can they just tell us our answer now??? lol. I know I'm probably being paranoid, but Spring first round interviews got their decisions in like...ten days! I need to find a hobby...or focus on my classes. lol

Right! After getting that emaila nd seeing Mystar change I am constantly checking my email to see if they said anything.

sorry, I'm trying to delete my OG comment lol!

Not every applicant is on this forum but there are a few that get on here and say they've been pulled off. There are so many nursing schools I feel 5-10 is an alright guess..

Thank you! I was thinking around the same. I feel like i remember hearing that the waitlist is composed of around 25-30 people. I used to think that those who interviewed to be put on the waitlist were placed lower than those placed on the waitlist after interviewed for admission. Do you happen to know anything about that?

Hi! I do not know exactly how many people are on the waitlist but I am one of them. I know some people have had their to-do list on MyStar update, which means they are processing some applications. My advice would be to keep checking MyStar and your emails!
