UTMB Spring 2015 Applicants

Hey Y'all,

I read through the whole UTMB Fall 2014 thread and thought I'd start the next semesters thread (because I couldn't find one). I know the application doesn't close until May 31st, but thought it would be helpful to start this now.

I heard that they only look at your GPA, TEAS, and personal statement. They don't consider any past degrees or any past occupations. They also don't consider where you went to school.

A friend of mine who's stats are on the lower side got a call today saying that they're interested in her and asking her to retake her teas, so anybody who may be discouraged, don't be.

That's awesome! Did she get an interview or will she after she retakes her exam?

I imagine it's possible after she retakes her exam, but no, they didn't offer her an interview at this time. We're hoping they do as we've done a great deal of our schooling together and would like to stay together if possible.

Thank you so much. I know she appreciates it and I hope her story (up to this point) gives others some hope.

Her stats are 3.3 overall/prereq gpa and 3.0 science gpa. Her teas was a 69.7.

Her stats are similar enough to mine that she should definitely get an interview if she brings that TEAS score up. Her science GPA is actually a little higher than mine. Have faith!

She can definitely do it. She just freaked out the first time I think.
