UTMB Spring 2014 Applicants

The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?

JayC., I honestly didn't think of the possibility of me getting admitted to UTHSC. Lol. The competition is much stiffer at UTHSC and I always figured UTMB would admit me first but things never go as planned do they? Now, I'm confused on what to do if UTMB ever calls me for an interview. I think both schools are great but most people that have been accepted to both schools end up choosing UTHSC for some reason.

It must have been a pleasant surprise! Both schools are definitely great but I think most people end up choosing UTHSC just for the location and/or they have that misconception it is "better" which I don't think it is true.

Do you have any preference if you also get an interview and get accepted? Haha I also need to make sure I pick the right one and perhaps hearing you might help me out =P

JayC, I honestly have no preference right now. I have friend who is attending UTMB and another one who is attending UTHSC right now. I've asked them about their experiences and they both tell me the same thing. Please let me know if you find out anything new? Good luck on your choice!

Hey guys I finally got my acceptance email today!!!

JayC did you apply for the scholarship or did they just give it to you with your acceptance to the program?

I did apply for the scholarship they offerred when my utmb account got created. But in the formal mail I got it said that as part my early admission acceptance they are going to give a partial scholarship each semester. So I think from what I read, everyone who got early admission gets a partial scholarship! So I believe you will be getting one too but make sure you read your formal letter of acceptance to verify that!!

You shouldn't stress too much yet because today is the first batch of interviews and those who has their interview today haven't post any news about how it went yet. They will most likely send out another wave of interviews/acceptance/denials this week. Even if you don't find out this week, they will keep notifying applicants until literally the first week of classes!

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!! And everyone who is waiting to hear, hang in there!! I wanted to let you know I was accepted to UTHSC and I accepted admission. Thanks to everyone for their supportive and positive attitudes and informative posts. Best of luck to you all!!

I just got back from my interview! It was an easy going interview for sure. The interviewer was very sweet. She told me that that they will be accepting 130 applicants for Spring 2014 out of 400. Of those 400, they already weeded some out, some of course got early admission, and then the rest are ranked and are given interviews in waves.

Mines was earlier in the day but it went okay. My interviewer was nice and she kept telling me how intense the program would be. I was stumped on the first question but it went smoothly afterwards. My interview lasted about 45 minutes.
