UTMB Galveston Spring 2021

I am going to apply to UTMB Galveston's spring 2021 program. I have a 3.7 overall GPA and a 3.9 prereq GPA. I'm taking the TEAS this Friday and was wanting know if anyone could tell me whether I'd be a competitive applicant. The only other thing I have is that I've worked at a doctor's office walking back patients, taking vitals, inputting and updating patients meds, etc. for about four years. I have looked at other threads for utmb and it seems most people who got in or at least were considered had higher gpas than I do. Also, does anyone know the wait period for retaking the UTMB for the TEAS? I'm having a hard time finding it.

hi guys so I applied and I called a couple weeks ago to see why my application still said active. I spoke with someone on the matter and they said that this year it was super competitive so for me everything was perfect and competitive except my English score on the TEAS, I had below a 65, which usually they take a 60-62 or something around there. I was exhausted by the end of that TEAS and I think thats why I did poorly.  So basically she explained they take all the applications that meet their minimum  and review them, which this year would be 65 or higher for all sections because when they tried to do it any lower there would be too many applicants to review and it would take forever. So this could be why.

I had below a 60 on one of my sections and my application still says complete but my other application that I did for fall 2020 (I didn’t get accepted) isn’t there anymore

Yea, it can be frustrating, but everything happens for a reason.

Yeah but I don’t think it fair for them to change the criteria and requirements to make their job easier.

every nursing program is competitive and it might seem unfair but in the end they want to choose the best applicants for their program.

I don't have an application on file with them also which us odd. and it sucks because if they were to deny us they should of told us sooner instead of leaving us guessing because the Summer 2021 deadline is over and apps cost money.

Exactly if they wanted to deny us we should’ve atleast received an email or something, IDK it’s happening to a lot of people so I’m not sure what’s going on.
