UTMB - Galveston Spring 09

Wow I'm just a topic starter but since no one else has done it i'll start a thread that "might" be useful for others.

Well has anyone else applied for the aCC2 program at UTMB for the spring of 09? I haven't heard back from them yet and curious to know if anyone else has.

Finally.. I thought I was the only one applying for the Bacc2 program! YAY! :yeah:

Well.. I emailed Ms. Leann Carmical- the enrollment coodinator at UTMB.. n she said that we should hear from them by the end of September or early October for interviews.

Man.. Im so tired of waiting...

I applied to this program as well.

Thuynhle: When did you e-mail Leann?

I e-mailed her on August 17, and she said that interview letters would be going out within the next four weeks. If that's the case, then we should be getting letters by the second week of September.

However, what she told you is quite a bit later than what I had been expecting. I'm a bit concerned since I've read a lot of horror stories concerning the "disorganization" of the admissions department at UTMB.

Leann wrote me back last Thursday- Aug 28th, so that's the latest.

Yeah I called up UTMB like early August and they said we should hear from the school by the end of the mth... so I called in at the end of August and they were like.. oh.. we've been busy with orientations and all this other stuff so they havent even looked at the applications! So that's when I emailed Ms. Leann Carmical and she told me.. by the end of Sept/early October... so yeah.. i dunno... ... but.. i really want to get into UTMB...

Thank you for the info! I hope they don't keep pushing the dates back-I'm very anxious already. Did you apply anywhere else?

Thanks for the info ladies/gents haha yay not being the only one haha.. I see all these other threads and they seem to have sooo many people and it makes me seem like i'm all alone :-( lol

Well I guess we can keep each other posted on events :-)

Im hoping to get into UTMB also since its close to home. Did I read/hear right that the Bacc2 program is online with class once a week? I also heard that you are able to do clinicals in the med center in houston if you prefer..

GL lets hope we all get in!

P.S. I know you didnt ask me but i also applied to the UTHSCSA

I applied to TWU and UTMB... but i really want to get into UTMB bc of the accelerated prgram. Im sure the deadline for San Antonio is over huh?!

Yeah.. i hope they dont push back the date anymore... i just.. want all of us to get into nursing school... haha =)

Yeah it was over July 1st haha..

TWU doesnt that accept Bacc2 in dallas and houston every other year? I thought this year was in dallas? Maybe im wrong oops...

Im like patiently waiting sorta... more like intently watching my mailbox at 4pm everyday for the mail lady hahha..

I'm confused.. what is the accelerated program?? do they allow spring admissions??

Hannahc26, the Bacc2 (accelerated program) is for people that have a BA/BS degree and want to pursue a career in nursing.

Its basically the same program but done in a faster pace. Hence, the 3 semesters of classes instead of 4 so one FULL year compared to the 2 years with summer breaks. (Im thinking thats right... could someone chime in on that)

And yes they do accept for this program in the spring but the deadline to apply was July 15th so your out of luck at the moment. At the moment I don't know when their next offering of the Bacc2 is and each school has separate deadlines for each program.

Hope this helps!

how about for the regular bsn program? I'm looking to apply to schools for next spring and I can't find oiut whether they accept spring admission. does anyone know?

Thanks.

They are pretty much gonna be posted on the website of the school. Your gonna have to look because each school has different deadlines.

Try looking for BSN programs and each of them should have a application deadline. Thats pretty much what i did.
