UTMB Fall 2018

Published

Hey! I wanted to make this post because I didn't see a thread for those who are applying to UTMB Galveston Fall 2018. I know application hasn't open yet, but I just took my teas score. I have no idea if it is good enough for UTMB standards. I currently have 40 hours, but by the end of this semester I will have around 53 credit hours. I have no idea how I should even start my personal statement. Would you guys be willing to share your stats? Any questions or comments please feel free to post! :)

My stats are

TEAS:

82% Overall

-Reading: 85.1%

-Math: 87.5%

-Science: 78.7%

-English and Language Use: 75.0%

GPA: 3.9 Overall

Thanks, I'm undecided right now because Fall and Spring are so competitive and I can't afford to re-take classes to bring up my GPA. I may not reapply until Summer if I'm not accepted else where. Do you know when they usually notify for Spring? That is another issue. They take quite a long time to notify and I need that for my scholarship before the deadline.

Well spring is less competitive than fal. Honestly I'd say try your teas again and leave your gpa!!

I don't know, I'm guessing 2 months after deadline. But yes they take so long!

Got an email this morning that said I was declined admission. Those of you that haven't heard anything check your emails!

I am so sorry to hear that. There is a timeline on NursingCAS but I have a feeling it will be similar.

Honestly, I would just retake your TEAS. Your GPA isn't bad! Don't give up! I'm a Firm believer that you will end up where you are meant to be. You already have so much experience. I bet reapplying will show them how dedicated you are.

I'm def retaking TEAS because I'm pretty sure that's why I didn't get in. I also have 2 classes not added to the GPA I applied with so those As will bring it up as well.

For those still waiting, Katherine from UTMB, just emailed me back letting me know interviews are still going out. And well hear something in 3-4 weeks ..

Hey Leslie!

Did she happen to mention if these were the last wave of interviews? I've been waiting forever to hear back from them and wait is killing me slowly. :(

Hi mzmissy! I'm so sorry to hear that! What exactly did the e-mail say? I'm still waiting to hear back..

Thanks, I'm good. It just said that after reviewing my app, they couldn't offer admission at this time. It came from Catherine.

When did you submit your application? I noticed early in the thread people saying they go in order but then someone said they applied on the deadline date and they were accepted.

This is what she said:

"Leslie,

Interviews are still going out, however we do not release information about how many spots are available for a particular session.

Did you fill out your supplemental application? As long as you filled it out, you should hear something in the next 3-4 weeks. If the deadline for Spring 2019 approaches, you could also consider applying for Spring as a backup.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions!"

But yes it's killinh me too!!

Thank you for letting me know!

I submitted my application on NursingCAS January 13th. After my application was processed, I submitted my supplemental application on January 29th. I guess now all I can do is wait and hope for the best.

What are you stats if you don't mind me asking?

I submitted about a weekly two before the deadline. And got the supplemental same around you too.

Can anyone share when they submitted their application and when they were granted an interview or received an admission decline email? Just trying to get a time frame to better understand their process. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! The struggle is real!
