UTMB Fall 2018

Published

Hey! I wanted to make this post because I didn't see a thread for those who are applying to UTMB Galveston Fall 2018. I know application hasn't open yet, but I just took my teas score. I have no idea if it is good enough for UTMB standards. I currently have 40 hours, but by the end of this semester I will have around 53 credit hours. I have no idea how I should even start my personal statement. Would you guys be willing to share your stats? Any questions or comments please feel free to post! :)

My stats are

TEAS:

82% Overall

-Reading: 85.1%

-Math: 87.5%

-Science: 78.7%

-English and Language Use: 75.0%

GPA: 3.9 Overall

Yeah maybe you should or call them?

I emailed. Will let you know what she says.

She emailed back and said that they are still reviewing applications and more interview invites WILL be sent out. She said to allow about 3-4 weeks to hear something(if not sooner). So, we continue to wait, lol.

Awesome! Thank you!!!

Are the interviews random? Or are they based on who they want first?

There were 700 applicants for the upcoming fall semester and they only accept 120. I feel like I should just pull my application lol.

Also, I talked to the lady who does admission in person, and she said to be a competitive applicant it's very important to make at least a 75% in each section of the TEAS.

I'm definitely not competitive in that aspect or with my GPA(few C's in there), but I believe in a higher power, and if it's for me it will be. Same for you guys. People have gotten in with my same stats, so there is HOPE.

With UTMB, my GPA is like 3.2 I believe. My science GPA is the same. TEAS overall was 72%?? I question because I took it twice and I'm not sure which scores they accepted. I bombed the English part the first time, so I retook and did good in everything but Science( did fine on Science the first time), hence the low overall percentage. IDK what happened there, lol.

I had my interview today and was told I would hear back in 2-3 weeks. I rrrrreally hope It's closer to 2-3 weeks than 4-6 í ¾í´£í ¾í´£

Hmm I see I think they take which ever one u send. My overall gpa should be also 3.2, my science is about 3.3 only missing biology (my elective). My teas is a 84.7 I scored super high in science and math but I got a 72 in reading.

I've worked since I was 14 full time so I'm hoping that makes them a little more linenant with my lower gpa. But I just want an answer already! I'm gonna go ahead apply for the spring.

I sent both because I took the second test after the deadline( with approval.) I am also in my elective science currently. They definitely look at the whole picture, which I think is great. Everybody gets an equal chance that way, not just people with high GPA's and test scores.
