UTMB Fall 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

No tips being that I haven't been but good luck.

I would say "don't be nervous" like everyone else told me but I couldn't help it í ½í¸‚ It really isn't bad at all. They might ask about your personal statement so just remember what you put on there, other than that they don't ask any tough questions! It is very relaxed and they make you feel comfortable

Random question here that I hope eventually applies to me :roflmao:: When invited to interview, how many days does it offer as potential interview dates? For example, if I receive an invitation to interview tomorrow (wishful thinking), how many days ahead can I schedule my interview? What's the limit, if any?

Thank's y'all! And best of luck today @50shadesofcray (Cam)!

You'll get a 2 week window+a few days in which you can schedule it and it seems like they want to get everyone interviewed as soon as they can (they give you a span of dates to choose from in the email but it is a first come, first serve basis). They may try to push an earlier date but they understand if you need time to prepare for it. Not sure if there is a limit but you could ask?

Awesome! Thank you very much @alexis0617!

You're very welcome @hunterb_m!

Hello!

I had my interview over Spring Break (I guess I was in the first wave of them), it went very well. I was excited about that. They said it would be a couple of weeks before hearing back about getting accepted. Has anyone that already had their interview heard anything yet?

Also, if anyone has questions about the interview I can give a few tips. I have several friends who have graduated/ are graduating from UTMB soon!

Do your friends commute?

Hey! I had mine over spring break as well and my interviewer told me about six weeks (beginning of May) is when we would be hearing back but that's all I've heard from their side. :( I did go thru Fall 2016's feed and it appears they heard back after about 3 weeks from the time the first few people of the wave interviewed. I know it's different every year but I hope we hear back sooner than May! I have a spot at a different school but wanted to hold out as much as I could to hear back from UTMB ;)

Well congrats on the spot at the different school! UTMB is the only one I applied for tbh. I just have high hopes since I already have a previous degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Hopefully It won't take 6 Weeks!

No, they live in Galveston or did live in Galveston.

I had my interview on the 13th! Every interviewer has a different timeline they tell people. Mine said I might hear back in 1-2 weeks but a friend of mine was told 4-6 so really, I don't think they have a definite timeline! I'm hoping in the next week or two I'll hear back.
