Published

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

Hey! I was accepted on Tuesday! If anyone could send me the link to the facebook group that would be awesome. Good Luck to all!

Congrats!

Send an email to Meg at mariorda at utmb.edu and she'll send you a link to join the FB group.

So, to all who have gotten a reply, was the first form of communication through email?

Congrats lady!! Happy for u!!!

Hi all! I'm a current student at UTMB! I was accepted for the Spring 2013 semester. I've been reading a few posts and it brings me back to the long, agonizing days of waiting for an acceptance! I'm sure you've all heard this else where but PATIENCE and FLEXIBILITY is definitely a must in order to stay sane!

To everyone that has been accepted CONGRATS and welcome to the UTMB SON family :) Sometime during your orientation you will hear about the mentor/ mentee program! I HIGHLY recommend that you request a mentor! You will be assigned to a nursing student to help guide you through this crazy thing called nursing school! I wish you all the BEST of luck! If you have any questions just ask!

has anyone else that has been waiting been admitted to any other programs? I was waitlisted at SFA, admitted to Texas Tech but am not too thrilled about the cost of living at the odessa campus. Im pretty much between a rock and a hard place, dont know if i should go ahead and go to texas tech odessa bcz they accepted me and have to work through school with the average one bedroom apt ranging $900 and up. I only applied to tech and utmb and sfa, wish i would have applied to more schools or been more selective about the tech campus i choose. My grade stats are NOWHERE near as high compared to the ones ive been seeing yall post on here and now i realize i pretty much have about a %0.002 chance of getting into utmb this semister bcz i hadnt yet taken chem or my final english before i applied and my gpa by NURSINGCAS "translation" was wayyyy lower than wt it is at my college. lol however, now that i got an A in english and a B in chem which i ws terrified of , im a little more confident about reapplying to utmb next semister. Im takin patho and statistics this summer just to get it out of the way...I mean i dont know at the point what to do....maybe i should just reaplly to both next semister and TWU as well...ugh....this feels like a pricey gamble lol if i give up my spot at tech who knows i may never be accepted to a nursing school for the rest of my life. woe is me :***:

Hey no worries! So like, I ONLY applied to UTMB, so You're way better off than me. If I don't get in in th's fall, I'll be back at community college next semester. I suggest you accept TTech, and then Maybe say that you changed your mind? Just don't take the chance of not getting anywhere. As of now, I'm really scared about not getting accepted. I got a 75% over all on TEAS and a 60% in science, which is terrible. When I applied to UTMB, I had a 3.6. I mean idk if this is good enough to get in, but whatever. I suggest you accept! Good luck bud!

Thanks! And to answer your other post about what to do, I suggest accepting where you were accepted. I have to respond to blinn by may31st I'm going to hold off a few more days; however, If I don't hear from utmb I will go ahead and accept blinn. I don't want to turn them down and get turned down by utmb. Hold out as long as you can but dont let it jeopardize Texas tech. I have seen on threads of people getting accepted to utmb a day-1 week after classes have started!!! lol On the other hand living in odessa sounds expensive!!! I thought the apartments I was looking at we're crazy lol (750) for a 1 bedroom but I found another place that has a four bedroom four bathroom individual lease for ($404) all utilities paid except for electric. Sounds good but nervous about living with 4 roommates .

I was actually accepted to UTHSC's program first. I didn't hear back from UTMB yet so I went ahead and accepted UTHSC. Now that I heard back from UTMB and accepted them, I just basically withdrew myself from UTHSC.

You can always accept another school just to be sure. That way you have something to fall back on if UTMB doesn't accept you, although I hope you get in. So either way, whether UTMB accepts or rejects you, you still ensure that you are in a nursing program.

I am trying to apply for fall of 2014. I plan on applying once I finish with my fall 2013 classes. The problem is I wont be finished with my classes until December 30 and I think the deadline is Jan 14. Will I still have enough time to apply before the deadline?
