  1. Hi all! I'm a second semester nursing student at UTMB! Reading y'alls forum brings back all of the anxiety and excitement of the "waiting game" lol. Congrats to all that have been accepted and welcome to the UTMB family :) For those of you still waiting... patience is key! Coming to UTMB you will learn a lot about FLEXIBILITY! I have classmates that were brought in/accepted the second day of orientation! Calling and emailing will not speed up their decision making time at all. I went to a meeting today for the Welcome Weekend in August and he said they are still waiting on the final list of people... so be patient. Let me know if you have ANY questions.
  2. Hi all! I'm a current student at UTMB! I was accepted for the Spring 2013 semester. I've been reading a few posts and it brings me back to the long, agonizing days of waiting for an acceptance! I'm sure you've all heard this else where but PATIENCE and FLEXIBILITY is definitely a must in order to stay sane! To everyone that has been accepted CONGRATS and welcome to the UTMB SON family :) Sometime during your orientation you will hear about the mentor/ mentee program! I HIGHLY recommend that you request a mentor! You will be assigned to a nursing student to help guide you through this crazy thing called nursing school! I wish you all the BEST of luck! If you have any questions just ask!
  3. @ChristenNease Hello!! I am a first semester student at UTMB (I started in January). If you go to the UTMB School of Nursing website... under Bachelor degree program it will list all of the classes needed for admission into the program! But UTMB is really good at looking at nursing applicants as a WHOLE. They consider every class, your TEAS score, and especially your personal statement (probably the most important aspect they look at) that is included with your application. TAKE TIME writing your personal statement!! If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask! I will try and get on here as often as I can!
  4. From what I understand.. if you are waitlisted you could be called in up to the first day of class if people dont show up for orientation or don't accept their admission offer in time! There were a few people on this thread that were waitlisted for Fall 2012 and were the first people offered admission for Spring 2013.
  5. Congrats Tpluta!!
  6. Utmb son website says it has to be the basic life support for health care providers through American heart association ...that's what I got and it was only $40 ... its called CPR Providers not just CPR lol
  7. Hey awe009!!! Not sure where in San Antonio you live but I went to a place on culebra called CPR super nice lady it was 40$ though ... I was in a small class and it only lasted 3 hours (its usually around 4)
  8. @tool! I emailed the dorm office and asked for a detailed description of the dorms because the layout and pictures don't go with each other! lol So its basically set up like the layout on the website. BUT only one person person room and you share a bathroom with another person. She also told me that all dorms are full right now but if you mail in the $200 deposit you will be put on the waiting list if any spots open. BUT we wont find out if we if get a spot until NOVEMBER! I signed up to go to the open house in november to hopefully get to see the dorms for myself. Hope this helps!
  9. Congrats!!
  10. Does anyone know of any FURNISHED apartments in Galveston?! I'm planning on staying in the dorms but they are full as of right now with no promises of any opening up in November so I need a back up plan!!
  11. Awe009! Another 2-3 weeks?! Ahhh still wishing you luck!

  15. Question! So I'm taking chem 2 and utmb doesn't require it. Do y'all think my spot would be affected if I dropped it and got my money back?
