HI! I am applying for the traditional BSN program at UTMB that starts Fall 2012. I am taking my TEAS this friday and I wanted to know if anyone else here is applying for the same semester. Hopefully there are others so I don't have to be nervous alone!!
sorry to hear about this. Nursing school is so competitive these days. I just graduated from BSN program in May. I loved UTMB. Here's the thing....what's the point of getting your ADN? You're gonna be forced eventually back into school to get your BSN. I know my hospital is forcing all RN's very soon to get their BSN, PLUS you can never climb the ladder w/out it. My hospital pays us an extra $50 a check just for having it haha. I recommend this--Accept the offer, email advisor to see if you can accept and also stayon the waiting list, if you don't get in--work your butt off for a semester and save some $$!!!! School is going to go by so damn fast anyway.
cheers,
G
Hey guys! I was just called this morning about a spot opening up for the Fall 2012 class. Of course I accepted admission. I just feel so out of the loop! If you guys could send me the facebook link for our group. I'm assuming I'll find info on there about housing, carpooling, and possibly a roommate. Thanks! :)
I am currently living in the dorms and when I saw that I was confused too. Actually the only thing you will be sharing is the bath room and that is connected to your next door neighbor. Basically you get two of everything in your room. Everything is furnished including a fridge. You are allowed a small microwave and you get wifi. Rent is $547 a month or you can pay all at once which will be $1650.
I received a rejection letter for this Fall 2012, but just yesterday I received a call that they have a spot for Fall 2012, after all. I don't have a perfect GPA (overall 3.0, science 3.5 prereq. 3.4, TEAS 82). So if you get rejected like I did, just keep in mind that there is still a chance. Its unbelievable!!! Good Luck to everyone!

For all of those that will be staying in a dorm:
I noticed that each room has 2 beds, desks and closets, but the website says that each room accomodates one student. I'm a little confused, why would they have 2 of each?
