Published

I applied o UTMB and still anxiously waiting for a letter for intervciew. has anyone heard anything about the fall 09 application. Has anyone gotten interviews yet?

Haha it is alot! I think that it will be alota studying for 5 weeks! Does anyone know if the quizzes will bf hard? I think the quizzes are just ten questions but know if they will be general questions?

UMMM why does the UTMB website say that

HPRS 2301

http://www.son.utmb.edu/studentaffairs/programs/baccalaureate/documents/PATHOPHYSIOLOGY%20COURSES.pdf

is acceptable now? Didn't they say that course was no good?

Hey guys!

Quizzes are easy, the are 10 questions, 10 minutes each and are not too bad. My lowest grade was an 80 on the quizzes, and wonderful Dr. Maurstad dropped the lowest quiz so it didn't even count! All my other quiz grades were 90's and 100's. Oh, and she also let us take the quizzes TWO times, so if you fail one miserably we were able to re-read and re-take, but the second grade counted higher or lower, so one time I got too greedy and I traded a 90 for that 80 LOL. Maybe yalls teacher has the same policy?

I'm here if yall need any help with that class, well as far as my knowledge allows :)

You can't even take that course at College of the Mainland. It's part of the the Health Professions degree or something.

MAYRA888,

that's the same policy for dr. eiler... he will allow us to take the quiz two times at most but the second one will count, even if it's higher or lower... thanks! so the quizzes are pretty simple? i just take notes for each chapter and do the terms... how did you study for it? thanks again!!

i'm going to call utmb tomorrow and see if i can clear the hprs thing up. i want to take the course at lone star where i took all of my pre-requ's and the hrps course is online there but the other patho class is not.

another issue for me; lone star has been completely left off the new list. also, i don't know if the hprs it is apart of another program like you said iinurses, i'll have to check that out too.

i thought i had this all figure out

[color=#002060]yes!!!

does anybody know who to call to make sure the school got your background check??

i called someone about that... i don't remember who but mostly likely, call the admissions first and just ask who to call about that. that's what i did. or go through the main SON line (but that takes forever).

does anyone know where to find CPR classes in the area...went to the site provided on SON but couldn't find one :/ help lol

yeah the link posted on the website didn't help. just type in cpr then the location. i live in houston so i found 2 that have the child, infant and adult but i have no idea what the two man is... anyone know anything about that?

Two-man CPR is just CPR with two people present to provide care. Like in the case of one person doing CPR and one getting the AED, with the "second man" there ready to take over in case of extreme exhaustion. It is part of the BLS for Healthcare providers CPR.
