Just wanted to start a thread to see how many others have applied to the BACC2 program and hopefully we can keep track when interviews start, letters get sent, etc.
So, have you sent in your application, and when do you think you will first hear something? I know last year, interviews didn't start until October, but I have a feeling that they were still trying to play catch-up from Ike. Considering that some of the Fall 2010 applicants were contacted on March 1st for interviews when the application period ended Feb. 15th, I'm hoping that maybe August could be a possiblity for us to hear from UTMB. Any one else have thoughts about this?

I was told by my interviewer 2-3 weeks. someone else told me 4-5 weeks before we hear back...the sooner the better IMO. this waiting game is a killer...
i was also told by one of the nursing staff that we should not do our background checks yet. The school is in the process of changing to a more thorough background check company. So everyone who already completed one, may have to complete another one. :-(
i don't know what other people had in their interview emails, but this is what mine said:
as indicated on our website, http://www.son.utmb.eduapplicants are required to undergo and pass a criminal background check as part of the application process.if you have not completed the background check, please visit the student security screening information page and complete now.
it doesn't sound like they want you waiting to get the check done, so i would have someone confirm it is okay to postpone doing it just in case.
about the wait for acceptance letters, one of the staff members who was checking people in while i was there said we should hear something near the end of october. she said that they're really busy the next couple of weeks interviewing for all of the other programs.
anyone know if they were interviewing candidates for the BACC2 yesterday only or is it supposed to continue over multiple days? i can't remember how many candidates they said they were going to interview, but I do know that they're going to accept 80.
One of the staff said that yesterday was the only day for BACC2 interviews and that they were interviewing 85. But the confusing part is that she said there is a "waitlist" and eventually they would interview a total of 125. All of us in the room were trying to figure out exactly what she meant but were left a little confused. I don't know if by "waitlist" they mean that only if there open spots after yesterday that they will go to the "waitlist" or what. She did say a couple times that yesterday was the only BACC2 day, so... I probably just confused everyone else as much as I am! :)

i didn't get all that in my letter. i asked the lady checking us in about the background check and that is what she told me. she said the school was changing its background check policy due to the texas nursing board. so i'm not sure. i'm just relaying what she told me. i haven't done mine yet and they haven't emailed me either about it. so i'm not too sure. i'll email the school and ask. i will let ya'll know soon!
Hello everyone. I too am applying for the Spring 2011 BACC2 program at UTMB.
Today I received a phone call to schedule an interview with someone from student affairs. I noticed most applicants who were selected for an interview received an email with an option to schedule an interview. Do applicants interview with student affairs or an admissions committee? Or are they the same thing? Im a little confused. I never received an email at all. I will be calling them tommorrow to clear this up, but I figured id try to see if anyone else knows anything about this so I wont stay up all night thinking about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
