Anyone else apply to UTMB?
Just wondering if anyone else it out there waiting in agony?
SO how is everyone getting their CNA certificate? The course they offered to replace the CNA is filled but surely you cant get all the clinical experience from just a week. Can we just have the classroom hours of the CNA certificate? Im having a hard time trying to find a place that is less than a month!
Whats crazy is I applied February 16th and still haven't heard anything yet. Long story short, I hand delievered everything into enrollment services and they lost everything, (they knew I wasnt lying when I said I turned everything in in Feb because they actually remembered me) but alas I was "going to be reviewed the first week in April" then the story changed to the "last week in April" then to the "first week in May" I have pretty much given up even worrying about it because its like I keep getting the run around.
I have been accepted into another BSN program in the area so at least I know I am going to NS no matter what! I just wish UTMB wasn't so tight mouthed and would let us know something!
UTMB is notorious for losing applications and then not really excepting responsiblity for any mistakes on there end. Always check and then double check whatever is being told to you. Its a good school, don't get me wrong but I know first hand through several people in the program how unorganized they can be.
I also think its completly unfair that they keep extending the deadline. To me the pool of applicants is what it is. How is it fair to the people that got their applications in Jan. to be continually strung along for someone that MAY have a tad bit better GPA than they do that comes along last minute and applies at the end of may. To me that seems wrong-- but that is just my opinion. I was accepted to UTMB last year but I choose to go a different route because of my personal experiences and I work at UTMB. so that should tell you something. I couldn't be happier in my ADN program.
Good luck to everyone! but if they treat you like this and your not even accepted just imagine how its going to be when your half way through the program and they start pulling stuff.... just a thought but trust me it will happen.

Hello packerbacker! I haven't "seen" you in awhile. I can remember when we were both waiting to get into UTMB. How is your ADN program going? I started at Houston CC; however, my mother passed away and I had to withdraw.....but, guess what? In the meantime, I was accepted to UT-Houston and will start there in the Fall. Oh yeah, I agree with you on them "pulling stuff".
