UTMB Accelerated BSN Summer 2013

The application opened for this program just opened the other day, and I wanted to see if I could reach out to anyone else applying!

I've submitted my application, and took the TEAS V Test this morning!

I graduated Texas A&M with a Biology Degree this year and during completion of this degree I realized Nursing is where I want to be! Hope to hear from others!

I got accepted a few weeks ago, and called freaking out because I wasn't sure my titer tests would be in before today! The lady said March 1st is the date they like to have everything in but if people are accepted later or don't get the immunization form in until a few days later then that's ok! Congratulations! It took a month before I heard anything back so don't get too discouraged! I feel like if they're still interviewing it may take longer than normal! :)

I had just had the nurse attach a signed copy of the form they fill out for tb results stapled along with the form utmb provided. I hope that will work.

I know we have to do a background check- after April 11th right? Did they say anything about a drug screening- I feel like we should have to submit one but I do not recall reading about it. I need to go back and look at all of the info. So much to take in! But I can not complain!

Is any one considering living in the dorms? Since our program is just one year I think I could stick it out.

ALSO: has anyone received anything about tuition payments or deposits? I would just hate to miss turning something in.

Thanks so much! The results of my titers came in today thank goodness! We do have to do a drug test at the same time as our background check, but we can't start til April 11! I don't think there are any deposits or seat fees yet. I checked my UTMB email today, and there was nothing in there as to any further actions we need to do. I feel like most everything is done, and orientation is where we will have to do the rest of it! :)

Ok great, thanks! How do we check our email- I tried to find the directions but they've sent us so many application/ admittance emails I'm not sure where to find it. Thanks!

Hey guys! I saw in some posts that people were talking about a facebook page for those accepted. Is there one made yet? If not, I would be happy to create one.

Hi ariraspa! I was accepted to the accelerated program a few weeks ago and was wondering the same thing about a Facebook page. I don't think a page has been made yet, so I think it would be great to go ahead and create one. Let me know if you need any help!

Thanks so much for making it! Sorry to be annoying, but I can't seem to find the Facebook group when I search for its name. Is anyone else having this problem or have others been able to find it?

Just an update for anyone waiting to hear back from UTMB. I called on Friday and admissions stated that it would be another two weeks. They are still holding interviews. If you haven't heard back you are still being considered and they are trying to be "quick" about it.

Also, I declined UTHSC- H. Hopefully that helps someone that holds them as their first choice :up:

Hi, there. I am new to this board, so nice to meet you all. Congratulations to everyone who has gotten accepted! I still haven't heard anything! However, I just received an e-mail stating the following:

The UTMB Health School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas wishes to inform you that your application for the 2013 Summer Accelerated BSN program(May, 2013 entry) has been verified complete by Nursing CAS and forwarded to UTMB Enrollment Services. Enrollment Services has received your TEAS scores and the UTMB School of Nursing Admissions and Progressions Committee will be reviewing all completed applications over the next few months.

What does this mean???

I just received the same email...Juliasmom. I turned my application in several months ago. Long before the first deadline. I can't imagine that it is just now complete.
