UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 15

Published

Hey guys!

So the application to start in the Fall of 2015 is due on February 1st. Really, that is right around the corner if you think about it!

Let this thread be dedicated to all hopefuls!

I still have to take the Teas V, but I did buy the study guide with 2 tests so hopefully that helps. My cumulative GPA will be 3.2ish and my pre-req GPA will be close to 4.0. I'm extremely anxious about getting in that is for sure!

Y'all, whether you got in or not, I'm grateful for this thread and for all of you. Seriously. We've all been to hell together with the wait. Some of us may be going in another direction or to a different school, but we got to experience the stress and the nausea together...and you can't say that about everybody. Haha. Seriously. I'm grateful for this thread.

Time to update the FB page!

I know that no application is ever perfect, so even though I don't plan on applying again, I am taking Brandy's offer to us denials for advice on making a stronger application. I would like to know how I can improve. You can never get better in life without some constructive critiquing!

I just found out I got into both the Texas State nursing school and this one as well. I am truly blessed but will most likely take the offer in round rock because it is closer to home. I hope that will open a spot for one of yall!

Hey guys just FYI, we got our acceptance letters late in the day on the acceptance day, like at 5:30 or so in the evening.

That's okay, I can't complain since TWU and UTHSCSA were my two top choices and I already got accepted into TWU! TWU only looks at your pre-req GPA (mine is a 3.88) but UTHSC looks at that AND your cumulative. I know it's my cumulative that got me that denial email. Sad, but it's the truth!

TWU has a higher NCLEX pass rate than UTHSCSA so you're in good hands there!

Well I'm off to scarf down some food and then go to Chem! Congrats to everyone who made it, whether here or "there"!

Thank you Leahahaha :)

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! To those who didn't, don't hang your head! There was some very tough competition this go around. Most of all though, don't let the fact that you didn't get accepted into the program be the end of your pursuit to become a nurse. I know people that have great grades that are not going to be good nurses, I know people that don't have great grades who are going to be wonderful nurses. I know people in other programs that are going to be better nurses than some of the people in this program. Keep your head up and don't give up on your dream of becoming a nurse.

For those that did get accepted. Let me know if y'all need anything or have any questions. Y'all may have noticed that I jumped on your Facebook page too! :)

I didn't end up applying to TX State but it would have been easy for me to go there considering I live in Austin. TX State's NCLEX passing rate is really high!

Give me your spot! Lol jk I'm so happy for everyone who got in and for those who didn't dont give up!!! God has bigger plans!!
