I haven't seen a thread for the Health Science Center in San Antonio, so I decided to create one since I am curious as to when we will find out if we are accepted or not. I am very nervous! I really want to go to this school but I know a couple of people that didn't get accepted from previous terms that had a better GPA or a better TEAS V score than I do. I am praying!!!
I like that confidence but I don't know if it's the nicest thing to say here there are so many ladies on the thread and I don't know how they would feel about you saying that male applicants have a better chance of being accepted regardless of qualifications...
*As far as I know people who did not complete the required pre-reqs (all math and science courses) were notified and did not receive supplemental applications I believe
I think y'all are misunderstanding what I said about the pre reqs... He had completed all of the ones that are required for admission (51 hours) but was in progress with the last 9. I don't think anyone meant to scare or worry any of you (myself or the other person who posted), but I think it is naive to think it isn't a factor in the decision making. If you disregard my example bc it was at a different school, how do you think they would break a tie between 2 candidates that had the same/similar stats? I never said it was fair at all (I am a female) but you have to think of it from the schools perspective. A guy could easily say if they didn't get in even though his test scores/GPA were good enough that they discriminated against him bc this is a female dominated profession. Not saying any of y'all would do it, but it does happen. Sorry rant over, just wanted to defend what I said.
I understand your point and I have no intention to argue :) I'm sure many of us here are aware of this unfair distribution thing, we are just here hoping really hard that they wouldn't do that do us. There's no way of knowing if they do that or not at this school or not unless you really really know "someone", so there's not thing wrong with us hoping.
I was also told I had a better chance of being accepted being a minority, but I really don't want that to be the factor.
I don't want to be rude but I'm very disappointed of this comment about males getting more preferences than my girls, that one day they will be my best friends at school (this week)or in my profession in the future. good luck to everyone!!!
You rock! I hope we all get the good news we want so we can all become the best of friends!!
Checking my email like every minute now ? hang in there friends we are so close to what we've been waiting for and I'm proud of everyone here who makes it this far don't worry no matter if you're males or females or what race you are if your hard work hard for it you will sure get it
Seriously, every buzz my phone makes, I hope its an email. At least going to the background/fingerorint place tomorrow will help kill some time. Haha
That guy with the male comment is spot on. But I am the true ALPHA, I am sure I'm getting in too. If they said we get the results on the 26th, why won't you believe them all this work up for nothing. In the meantime can someone point me to where I get the burnt out orange uniform for my clinical. #SUPEREGO
