I haven't seen a thread for the Health Science Center in San Antonio, so I decided to create one since I am curious as to when we will find out if we are accepted or not. I am very nervous! I really want to go to this school but I know a couple of people that didn't get accepted from previous terms that had a better GPA or a better TEAS V score than I do. I am praying!!!
I’m sorry to be the one to bring that news but I always think its better to know than to not know! And I really don’t understand how they’ll be able to turn down 53 people based off of the supp app thats only worth 1% of the application? I’m assuming our TEAs score and GPAs passed the mark, or does anyone know if our scores can still come into play when deciding acceptance?
Yes, I called today and the lady told me that out of over 350 applicants, only 203 were sent supplemental apps and of the 203 UTHSCSA SON can only admit 150 applicants….so 53 will get turned down. MADE ME SO NERVOUS I SHOULD HAVE NEVER CALLED
I should not have read that
I should NOT have read that
Hey jvj440 don't worry it's not your fault I'm sure we all wanted to know that, so the information you shared was very helpful. It's just knowing that the chance to be accepted is now actually about 72.46% is super nerrrve wrecking, knowing that there are so many competitive applicants out there
I believe it all counts. Our gpas, teas score, and everything we did to apply. The supplemental application was sent after they made sure we were elegible but now they gotta compare all of us based on everything they know about us. (I think thats the way it is, it makes sense to me) I mean, yes we all met the requirements but I have a 84 on my teas... Maybe someone out there has a 90.
Do you all know what I mean?
Good luck to all of us!!!!
Nice score on the TEAs! I scored an 81, and it said I was in the 90th percentile…but I don’t think thats enough to ensure my acceptance as I had only one volunteer experience and the only job I’ve had is working as a babysitter…. I just hope they dont take my lack of experience in the field as negative.
I hope youre right! The lady at the front desk also said 1-2 weeks after all apps are due we should start hearing back…. and thats a lot sooner than the 26th…so hopefully they wont keep us waiting until the last minute but I’ve read other forums on here from past semesters and it seems like they always wait until the last day
They decide who gets in by a combined score based on the TEAs (59%), Math/Science GPA (30%), Cumulative (10%), Supp App (1%). Since the supp app is only worth 1%, I think they already know who is getting accepted and who is getting wait listed, unless you don't send your supp app in. So out of the 203 that were qualified, 15-20 won't get there supp app in on time. So drop it down to 183, then you can count on probably 10-15 people not accepting their acceptance. So that leaves you with 168. Little better probability. Other then the first part on how they score us being true, the other part is just my theory. It helps me sleep better at night thinking that only 18 of us won't get acceptance verses 53. Feel free to think this way as well. You might be able to sleep a little better. LOL...
