Okay so im applying to uthscsa for the spring and was wondering if anyone knows what gpa they look at and any other helpful ideas to get an interview etc. my prereq gpa is 3.74 but my overall gpa is a 3.44...is that going to hurt my chances? i went in for a transcript review and debbie calculated the wrong gpa for me and i didnt notice until i got home. i hope they dont mess up with my application. eeeek im so nervous i wanna do everything possible to get in!!:D the only other place im applying to is sac but i much rather get my bachelor degree then an associates....

funny cyclical! I can't believe this exsists.

Hey Cali, I'm all for meeting up, maybe over a cup of coffee, to get to know any fellow students that want to attend a meet 'n' greet prior to orientation. From what I've read, the orientation consists of some icebreakers in order to get to know others. While I don't have a problem with this (I like to meet new people), I'd prefer to already know some people going into it. We'll play it by ear I suppose... Hey Kristy/AFmed, gotten anything yet? Once you get that acceptance, you're going to have to overnight your paperwork huh...

Well, i was hoping for better news. Unfortunately, i was not accepted.

Best luck to you all in the program.

Kristy

Kristy, I am so sorry to hear that...:o

so sorry to hear that AFmedx13

Hey Cali, where did you get your titer/vaccination done? I have all of my shots, just need someone to sign off on the sheet we need to turn in as well as get my TB test done. Thanks!

I went through texas med clinic. The doc I saw reviewed all my records and then did my updates (for you the TB). They said once the results come in they will sign off. You might be able to have them do what they calle a minmal immunization visit or something like that so it wasn't that much. I went in the late evening and avoided a crowd. Have fun getting it done!

Future.... The exact term was a Office Visit Minimal. I went to the one of Ingram and had a great experience. Hope it helps.

I have been haunting this site all through the nail biting of waiting for letters. I am so thrilled I got my acceptance letter--I love the idea of meeting for coffee before orientation (I'm more of a small group person:sofahider) Weekend after Thanksgiving works for me...maybe we should meet at a place near the school--get a feel for a possible morning coffee stop for the caffine addicts among us.

Welcome to the board cheeky and congrats on your acceptance! I know what you mean about the caffeine addiction; if i could I'd have an I.V. inserted for direct coffee injection! Wait a second, as a nurse I'll learn how to do I.V.s, so all I need to do is add the coffee! :smilecoffeeIlovecof Nursing school will serve many purposes apparently...

hey guys, out UTHSC-Houston status have changed. once I receive my admission packet I will be letting SA know that I will not be attending. good luck to those on the waitlist!

Good Luck MaoKhan and Welcome cheeky. I was talking with my husband last night and i was thinking what is worse...the waiting for a letter or the waiting for the forms and registration? I am thinking waiting for everything to start.
