UTHSCSA Fall 2016

Published

Let me try one more time. Anyone out there applying to UTHSCSA for the fall of 2016? The deadline is getting closer. How is everybody feeling? As for me I am a nervous wreck. I have taken my TEAS and completed all the courses. I am about finished with the application and I am just ready to know either way.

Hey guys, so glad I found this group! I tried to start a similar thread but it never got replies. Anyhow, I officially applied a couple of weeks ago, I'm sooooo nervous. I can't wait to find out.

My cumulative is 3.06, Math and Science is 3.76 and TEAS was 86.7. Im afraid my cumulative is to low, but hopefully the other criteria make up for it.

Hi! nice to see you here. Yes, this is my second attempt to start a thread. I am surprised at the lack of interest. Your Math and Science are great and your teas is awesome. I think you are going to be fine.

I was wondering since you did your application already, how did you approach the references, achievements, experience section? They seem optional to me and not very specific to what they are asking.

Glad you joined our little group discussion. Lol. Good luck.

darn, well i hope you find it! you shouldn't worry though because your GPA is phenomenal! may i ask where you got your prerequisites done?

I attended the Alamo Community College District.

Hey friendlyjane...thanks for the welcome. The references section I left because I remember at a SON info session, they said references aren't looked at. They strictly only look at TEAS, math & science gpa, cumulative and essay questions (I believe in that order) I did the experience and achievements section cause I figured it couldn't hurt to talk myself up a little bit. Lol

Thanks so much. I read your post then looked at my email and they just answered that question for me. So yes...I am about to click submit and I feel like I am going to vomit. Lol.

Just in case anyone needs to know, I contacted the admissions office via email about the supporting information section of the application. As 1ststaidkit stated, the references, achievements, and experience section are optional. Admissions, "You do not need to fill out the supporting information section; you don't need to do complete any portion of the application that is optional”. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!"

I also asked about the weight given to each criteria they look at for admissions since they took down the percentages from their website. Admissions, "The admissions rubric is no longer public information, so please do as well as you can and let me know if you have any admissions questions." So I guess we will not know if it got changed or stayed the same.

So I just submitted my app. Do I call them in a few days and see if they received all my information? Yikes, I am freaking out. Lol.

Hello Everyone,

I am also applying to UTHSCSA for this coming fall 2016 semester. I have taken my classes at UTSA, and I have a 3.68 cumulative GPA, a 3.43 math and science GPA, and I received an 86 on the TEAS. I feel pretty confident about my cumulative GPA and TEAS score, but my math and science GPA is quite low, and I feel like that might hurt my chances of getting accepted. I have also applied to UTMB just in case things don't work out for me at UTHSCSA. I hope I get in though!

Hi, Thanks for joining our little group. Your numbers look great. Have y'all seen the latest stats for UTHSCSA. They just put out their spring 2016 numbers. http://nursing.uthscsa.edu/students/TraditionaL_BSN_SP_Spring_2016.pdf

and falls 2015, http://nursing.uthscsa.edu/students/FA15-Student-Profile.pdf

Hi guys!!! I am so relieved to find this thread. I have been looking up the past forums for UTHSCSA and was surprised that Fall 2016 didn't have one! I'm also applying for Fall 2016 I have a 3.8 cumulative, 3.3 math and science and I just took the TEAS today. Nervous because my math&science aren't competitive at all but, hopefully I did well on the TEAS which should make up for it. I also applied to UIW's program as a second option. Didn't really want to go with SAC's or Baptist because it would be more time and money to do RN to BSN.I wish everyone so much luck! So glad I found this thread again, I will be checking in a lot, I feel like there was so many fees and forms in different places that needed to be submitted. Hoping I got everything in. Now just waiting for the deadline.

Hi ALEXISSOCCER123. Yes...I hate looking at those darn numbers. We all have to remember that the numbers UTHSCSA puts out are averages. There will be some lower and some higher, at least that is what I am telling myself anyway. Lol. My GPA is great, but my TEAS are just above the previous springs average and just below the previous fall average. Those darn numbers go around and around in my head till I can't stand it anymore. ugh. It looks like reading through the other threads, the prior fall applicants found out if they got in the last day of March. It may sound stupid, but I promise, the end of March will be here before we know it.

Hey everyone! So happy there's now a thread! I sent in my application a couple of weeks ago and just got my teas score. I got a 78, kind of bummed about it :( My cumulative gpa is 3.6 and my math and science is 3.7.

Hi poppy913. Great to have another poster here. Our little thread is growing slowly but steady. What part of the TEAS was the most challenging for everyone? Mine was Math and English. I was doing great in my math practice test, but in the actual test I totally misjudged my time on that portion and rushed the last half. As for the English, I will always be bad at grammar. If I ever want to become an author I guess I will just have to hire an editor. Lol.
