Let me try one more time. Anyone out there applying to UTHSCSA for the fall of 2016? The deadline is getting closer. How is everybody feeling? As for me I am a nervous wreck. I have taken my TEAS and completed all the courses. I am about finished with the application and I am just ready to know either way.
Hello Everyone! Not sure if anyone still uses this page since y'all already have started your programs, but thought I'd give it a shot. I just applied for the Accelerated BSN program this December and am hoping to be accepted and start in May 2017. I have a couple questions I was hoping you may be able to help with.
1. I submitted everything online to NursingCAS and ordered my transcripts to be sent to NursingCAS over a week ago, but it still does not show that any of my transcripts have been received when I click the "check status" tab on my NursingCAS account. How long did it take for them to receive your transcripts and update your NursingCAS account? Should I be worried that it's been about a week and mine still are not marked as received?
2. How will I know what immunizations are needed and will I have time to get those taken care of if I wait to find out about being accepted first? Or should I start working on that right away just to be safe?
3. I wasn't aware of all these accreditation issues. Has the status improved or taken a turn for the better since last year? UTHSCSA is my first choice, but I would hate to get into the program to have it fall through after I sank my time and money into it.
Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate your advice and input! So glad I came across this thread!
Hello adastra!
I am currently a nursing student at uthscsa. To answer your questions it usually takes about 3 weeks at most for your transcripts to go through.
As regard to the immunizations all you will need is the hep B series. I did the fast track one which you can get done in half the time. I started it before I was accepted just in case and most nursing schools require it anyways !
The accreditation situation is improving. We recently received an email about nclex pass rates and they have increased, moving our status to "Full-approval". There are a lot of changes going on right now but it's nothing that should stop you from getting a good education! Good luck and I hope you get accepted :)
