UTHSCSA: Fall Applicants

Published

I have applied to the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for Fall 2008. I guess this is a question for those who got in last Fall: When did you receive your acceptance letter? For this year, I've heard that it's in the 3rd week of April or so, but that's just rumor after all :-P

:nurse:I'm playing the waiting game, too. My interview was on the 11th so it's not as bad for me as it is for some. Anyhow, I will let you know when I hear something. Please do the same.

Hello. I am also an applicant for the fall and had my interview on March 19. I cannot stand the wait any longer! I am hoping the letters arrive soon. A friend of mine who applied for the accelerated program called and was told that it would be the beginning of May, but I have heard the third week of April as well. It is very frustrating!! haha:nuke:

I called the school of nursing and the secretary said that acceptance letters would be sent out this week. Rejection letters in May. Remember, let me know if you hear anything!!!!! :plsebeg:

I certainly will! Good luck to you! Hopefully we will all make it:nurse:

I just called the school and they said that they're sending them out at the same time--sometime at the end of this week...

So I don't know who has the correct information, but that's what I was told right now.

Can someone else call and ask? LOL I think they recognize my phone number because I've called soooooo many times.

I was also told that rejection letters would be sent out in May.

Hey everyone! Just in case you haven't heard yet, letters were mailed out today :yeah:. So keep an eye on your mailbox :-D

Good luck to us all!

I asked again this morning about acceptance and rejection letters being mailed out separately, and I was told that they would all get sent out together today, so just thought I'd say that since there was some confusion about that. Then again, the woman that told me that could've had the wrong info, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

We can calculate our averages--

GPA: 3.49

TEAS: 83.6-- Math killed me!

Interview: ??

Do you want to share your results?

Thanks!

hey guys--i am new here-- found this website by accident while searching for information on the UTHSC-SA Accelerated BSN program---i applied for the accelerated, but only got into the generic--from the sound of the posts i guess i should be happy with just acquiring a spot in the nursing school!! i guess i didnt score high enough on the TEAS for the accelerated program.....anybody know the criteria used to select the 20 students for the accelerated program??? just wanting to know what i did or did not do :mad:

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in San Antonio in February. Morning lows in the 50s. Afternoon in the 70s. If you're getting married I highly recommend a honeymoon in San Antonio. Go to your hotel and ask for tour packages. We took an all day tour for $50 each. They picked us up from our hotel, took us all over, boat ride down the river, and dropped us off back at the hotel. Next day we went back downtown to see the sights on our own, especially the riverwalk. Just don't go in the summer unless you like your shoes to melt.

I'm in the same boat. I applied for the accelerated and got into the generic. There were 70 applicants with bachelors degrees and that is the first requirement of the accelerated program. Usually they struggle to fill the 20 spots but the competition is getting stiffer. I got an 87 on my TEAS and I was told that this is really high, so I don't think the TEAS has much to do with it. I think it's based on your GPA at graduation with your first BS or BA. The good news for both of us is that should a poisiton open up and we fall next in line we could slip in before summer. Good luck to you!
