UTHSC Traditional BSN Spring 2014 Applicants

I have seen many threads for previous applicants for past semesters to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I wanted to start one myself as I am applying for the spring 2014 traditional BSN and have yet to find a thread for it. Although I opened it for applicants, I would also encourage previous applicants, current/previous students, and applicants for other semesters at UTHSC to join in and share in this exciting time!

I really think the admissions people over here are either disorganised or don't really know what they are talking about. I just receive my evaluation last Friday, and that doesn't match up with what the admission lady said just last week (that we wouldn't receive evaluation until after we are accepted). I don't think they are going to do interviews. There is no way they can, just all of sudden, add interviews as a requirement after applicants have already submitted their application. Hopefully, we all will get to know by November 15.

I am just waiting on this school bc I want to attend ut however I got in to hbu and they sent acceptance letters since October 2

I went ahead and said yes bc their deadline for acceptance is October 15 but still keeping my hopes up for ut

I went to an info session in April and there are a bunch of people on here that have been to even more recent info sessions and no one has mentioned interviews. I don't think they will conduct interviews this late in

I keep reviewing my eval and it indicates the accelerated it's that like the pacesetter program or is it the traditional one does any one know please respond.

No. All of their "traditional" BSN tracks are accelerated. They call it the accelerated track because it is 15 months through the summer semesters compared to the usual 22ish months with summers off in other nursing schools. So if you applied to the school you automatically applied for the accelerated track.

Which also does not mean pacesetter. Pacesetter is a different program currently only for fall entry students.

I am 100% sure that UTHSC does not conduct interviews. This was asked during the information session in August & the answer was no. I just double checked their website to make sure nothing has changed since then, and it still says acceptance is contingent upon your overall academic performance in the required prereqs and your performance in the HESI. Hope this helps :)
