UTHSC Summer 2017

Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

@TLBarrow I also got accepted into UTMB for the summer, however I'd rather get into UTH so I can stay in Houston. I was also having trouble finding good housing that doesn't have bad reviews.

Yes, I was at the UTMB open house on the 10th. If you go to UTMB have you decided on any housing?

I think you were sitting in front of me at the open house! I have housing in Galveston and Houston figured out (just waiting to hear back from Houston before I can sign)

Last semester they waited till they sent out all acceptances and waitlists and when I got my waitlist email I think they were still sending out the rest of the acceptances but it was a couple weeks till they finally sent out the denial emails

you were "waitlisted" last semester?

i was "waitlisted" also. But I haven't got my acceptance, yet.

this sucks for me.

@Tesstex Yeah I was waitlisted also and haven't heard anything either and have been refreshing my portal & I'm stressing out lol

Obviously, this whole thing sucks. Especially since nobody is sure of the criteria fro admission. My question is for people that still have incomplete showing in their application. Do any of you have any activity in your 'to do' list? Mine still shows something about transcript.

So, those of you that have seen this process before, do they release more waves weekly? Randomly? Daily?

Yes, I also have this in my portal. When I called in early January to make sure my application was complete, they said that this will remain in my portal until I complete all my "in-progress" classes (I'm in some random classes at TAMU right now). They said it wouldn't effect my application. You probably have it because your transcript indicated that you were currently enrolled in classes. It won't go away until you send them a final transcript at the end of the semester.

No activity at all for me. No transcript eval, still showing transcripts on to-do list even though I'm finished with all prereqs... I feel forgotten.

I'll be devastated if I don't get in because I feel like there's nothing left to do to make my app more competitive, & I need in so badly.

Seems random, but last year, the waves for the summer start came out more quickly than a normal long semester. I did see some people not accepted till April though :woot:

Hey all, I have been accepted as well. I received the email at 05:30pm. Here are my stats

GPA: 3.47 overall

Science GPA: 4.0

HESI: 88.4% overall

My last name starts with an A.

Also, I did not receive a transcript eval. My status was still showing up as incomplete due to me still taking some classes this semester.

Good luck to everyone, and congrats to those who got in. I look forward to meeting you all!! :) Don't give up hope yet I'm sure another wave will be send out soon.
