Hey! I am applying for the Accelerated BSN program at UT Health Science Center Houston that starts in the summer and had couple of questions. I didn't see any topics regarding that particular session (saw the Spring 2014 one) so I started this one.
So I have most of my prereqs for nursing but I still need to take my science prereqs during the upcoming fall semester. I had taken most of the prereqs (like english, psychology, etc) during high school, like dual credit, and now I just need my science classes and a few extra prereqs (like sociology).
The main question that I had about the application process was if I am eligible to apply just yet? I want to enter the summer term and will complete all my prereqs by Spring 2014. But the deadline is Dec 1 (if i'm right). Would I have to complete my science prereqs first? Or could I send in what I have and continually update them with my grades? I will complete all other requirements before the deadline (taking the HESI in October), but my grades won't be complete till after the deadline.
Thanks in advance for any help and i'm looking forward to other applicants for this session!
To everyone with a green check mark.... CONGRATS!! It seems to me the variable that is shared among those with early acceptances is a high score in Critical Thinking. Has anyone that has been accepted scored less than a 870? I know there are many factors they look at, but this one seems to be very important.

I believe that BigJayJay has a 860 in CT. The one thing I have noticed is that we share a 4.0 GPA in science. I am not sure if that is the necessarily the determining factor. It's hard to try to compare yourself with the others on here. It can make you feel inadequate and anxious, especially in the waiting process. There must be many factors in their process, so it's hard to narrow down exactly what they are looking. Stay strong and positive! Your time will come. Hopefully more people will know something soon!
For the people that just got accepted, congrats!!!Also, would you mind sharing your stats?? :)

I have also been following this thread for a long while. I still have the green circle on my status. This would be a blessing to me and dry all my tears if I am accepted. I have been dropped out of nursing school twice. But not giving up, I am currently competing the prerequisites for Bsn now, I have completed 43hrs. I check my status almost everyday. Now that people are getting accepted, I am no more at ease, I just hope all the nursing classes I have dropped earlier and the D I got in fundamental won't stand against me. Congrats
Well I have now went from checking it once daily to nearly once hourly!! LOL I'm glad that people are finally getting answers. I'm ok with acceptance or denial, but this waiting is killing me! I know I will be a nurse sooner or later and I'm not in a big hurry. With that being said, I would still prefer acceptance this semester!
