Hello-
If you have been accepted into the UT Health Science Center School of Nursing Accelerated program and have questions/comments about the whole process-post here! We can all get through these hoops together:yeah:
I am new to this website and have been keeping up with the conversation. I am not applying to the accelerated program but for just the generic program. I still have not received my letter of acceptance or decline. Further more, my UTLINK shows they are deciding still. I tried calling two times and no reply. I called one more time and got JoAn and she said that the letters will go in the mail today. However, my delimma is that I got accepted to TWU and the deadline to accept the offer is next Wednesday. I even sent Brandy an email seeing if someone can tell me if I have been in along with the problem that I am having between both schools. I am afraid that I will not receive UT's letter in time. I rather give UT a chance since they are my first chose. Can someone give me advise, please?!
If Joan can't help you, I'd go above her head and maybe even contact the dean of nursing or someone more higher up and tell them your dilemma. best advice I have is to be honest and tell them youd prefer their school and see if you can get any kind of early hint as to whether you're in or not.. keep checking the website..thats a crappy predicament =( sorry
Thank you. I think what I am going to do is contact Rita or Henry to see if they can give me a hint. What I have decided to do is...if I don't hear anything by the end of Monday, I will definitely be accepting TWU's offer. I feel that I have given a chance to UT and do not want to turn down an offer that I already have. Besides TWU has already given me scholarships to attend their school. I just would feel better if I give UT a chance than just jumping into things. This my future and I don't want to have any regrets. Thanks for your reply. I will keep you posted if you don't mind. EA
yes-i just have to get all of my various immunization forms together. i started the heb b-still have two more --oh yay. i am not going to be working, either, they did make it seem impossible so i just said no to everyone. i will miss the money, too :) where will you take CPR? I am trying to decide.
eamaya-i would def. do what August suggests. let them know your predicament, even go in if you have to and talk to them. by this point most people should have their letter of intent in or not and they should be able to give you a straight answer. April 1st was the absolute deadline they gave us so you should know by the end of the day. good luck to you!!!
i called the student affairs office for cpr suggestions and i was given a lady named darlene thurm's phone number, i think she teaches those cpr classes at ut on fridays.. shes having one this saturday at 9am and i called her and its only for like 3 hours MAX! that is soo short compared to all the other ones I saw so I'm doing that
