UTHSC Houston - Summer 2016 Applicants

Hey everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for Summer 2016 that was active so I'm starting one here! I am also an applicant for Fall 2016 but I'm applying for both because the deadlines are close and I really want to go here!!

So far I'm taking courses over the summer right now and going to finish my prerequisites this fall. I JUST finished the HESI exam today!!! Hope to hear from all of you soon

Hey! So I'm currently looking to apply to UTHSC.

For anyone that has already did the application process, could you tell me how that went.

I'm little confused, so you can have 40 of the 60 prerequisites done in order to apply?

Yep! So by the deadline date, which is Dec. 1 for the summer term, you should have at least 40 hours credit with 8 of them being science credit hours, and you should finish the rest by the time the semester starts from what I understand. Good luck to you! Hope we can all get in.

Hi everyone!

I am currently applying for the Spring 2016 semester and have just decided to go ahead and apply for Summer 2016 semester as well! The whole Spring application process has been nerve racking, and my GPA seems to be on the lower end of the scale, so it has gotten me extremely nervous. Because of that,I am re-taking 2 classes this fall that finish early in October.. This will give me a chance to boost up my GPA some (counting that I make 2 A's! **fingers crossed**), and send in my updated transcripts before the December 1st deadline... and hopefully give me a better chance of getting in UTHSC- unless by some miracle, I have already been accepted to Spring semester!

Sorry for the long post, I have just decided to do this, and hope I am doing the right thing.. I applied to 2 other schools, and although I think I have a good chance of getting into ONE of these other schools, my heart is set on UTHSC, and after countless hours of thinking, debating, talking my boyfriends ear out on what to do, I have decided to go for what I truly want, my dream school.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, and wish all of you guys good luck in this whole process!!! I have spent so much time reading past threads driving myself crazy, lol, but at least we will have each other to talk to throughout this long journey.

Glad to have you with us in this waiting game! My heart is also set on UTHSC so this is also my dream school to get into! With your motivation and dedication, I'm sure you can do it. What is your gpa if I may ask? I still have to take prerequisite classes so that's what I'll be doing this fall. I have taken the HESI already though! We got this

Can anyone tell me if Texas History satisfies the history requirement???

I'm pretty sure they mean US history since tx govt is another credit they're looking for. You can call and ask

I see the school website mentions critical thinking section???My hesi didn't have that section...

Did you put the school code in for the HESI when you signed up for it?? The HESI exam should've shown "with Critical Thinking". I know that the Critcal thinking section is pretty important for UTHSC... You might have to take the HESI again for UTHSC since I'm pretty sure they won't accept the score without the CT section.
