UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

Thanks for your comments

Is there a preferred website to go to in order to register for the hesi exam

You register through the Evolve website. See here https://nursing.uth.edu/dotAsset/2368423.pdf for detailed instructions.

hey guys, i've kinda been stalking this page recently lol... im not going to lie :p

I'm actually NOT from the Houston area, but i'm fascinated and thoroughly amazed by the medical center in the Houston area and i know/believe that UTHSC Houston is the right choice/place for me. I mean, the nursing school is rated top in Texas... i just have ONE BIG QUESTION...

For the traditional track BSN program are the semesters laid out as follows:

Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall

(or)

Spring, Summer, Fall, Spring

I'm asking because i have the feeling that it leads to an EARLIER graduation date, which is ALWAYS even BETTER!!! :D and you don't have to worry about summer breaks in between(which are always a hassle)

Yep, the program is 16 months long. lol yeah we might as well do something useful over summer and be done w/school sooner. ;)

awesome!!

Well goodluck to you all and God Bless!!

I will actually be applying for admission into Fall 2013, so best of luck to you all and hopefully ill see you guys next fall :)

For those of you on the waiting list, do not give up!! I was placed on the waiting list for Fall 2012 and got an acceptance e-mail 2 MONTHS later!

Also, if you haven't heard anything yet, don't get discouraged. I didn't hear anything at all for 2 weeks before I got an email about being on the waiting list. I know waiting is the hardest part, but keep your chin up!

Stay positive! You are all great and deserving and have worked incredibly hard to get here! Have faith!

We are heading into our last month of the semester and it is CRAZY!! 8 tests left in the next 4 weeks!! For those of you who have been accepted, enjoy your free time while you have it. A LOT will be expected from you, but it is totally doable. It's not impossible, so don't be afraid, but it is hard work and A LOT of sacrifice.

When I have more time (most likely at the end of the semester), I will write you guys a post about what semester 1 is like and the things I wish I knew before I started! I wish everyone the best of luck and congratulations to those of you who have been accepted!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I am on the wait list and it is hard to wait, but it sure dies help to have the support of others!!

Pls, do u think i will have a chance getting in? I still have 5 to 6 classes left, govt 1&2, history 1&2, philosophy. i want to take a computer class in d winter mini session. With that i will have the 43 hrs completed. my gpa presently is 3.9. I'v taken all the sciences. Do you all think they look at the number of classes completed?

jesus2012, are you referring to Spring 2013 semester? If so, the app deadline was November 1, so it is too late for Spring 2013 admission. I would keep taking as many of the remaining pre-reqs and apply for Fall 2013. Seems like you have a nice GPA and will have good stats. Make sure to sign up, study for, and take your HESI as well. I would recommend taking it after you have had AP II.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Hello everyone!

I am also new to this site. I think this is an awesome website, but just like Kimbers2882 reading through all of your posts makes me a little nervous lol . Stacymonique you have great stats :/ which only makes me even more anxious !! Cant believe you did not get in!!

I was going to apply to the Accelerated BSN program 2013 at UTHSC :( but I just realized I missed a section on my HESI :(.. I'm from Dallas, so I took this test back in September @ one of the Community Colleges here and missed the Critical Thinking section. I dont know what i was thinking :sour:...i guess I double checked and made sure i was taking all the sections required for TCU but forgot to do the same for UTHSC....which sucks!!!!! Do any of you know if i can take the HESI again? I know some schools will not let you take the test more than once per application period!! any advice is greatly appreciated !!! ;)

You can take the test again but I would do it ASAP. It needs to be done before the application deadline obviously. I took it once in September and then again in November.

Does anyone know how to send official HESI A2 test scores to other schools?
